I bought the Costco A5. I’m not near as good at cooking a steak as some of y’all, but this is by far the best piece of meat I’ve ever had.

Next time cast iron and more heat, gotta grey band. It probably tasted amazing though.

Did you put butter in the pan? It looks like you did and that’s not necessary or even good with Wagyu. Ruins the sear.

If I ever buy A5 it will be for sushi night and sushi night only. The richness of the meat doesn’t translate into a full steak IMO.

Just posted my results! We sous vide it for precision – hard to mess up. But definitely would take a bit to get used to direct to pan if you’re not used to it. Looks good!

Why you guys eat such big steaks? Best way is to slice thin and enjoy each piece as it’s fresh. That steak should serve 3 people at least

That’s pretty sexy. Price is reasonable too

I imagine the whole thing just tastes like the bunches of fat you pop in your mouth while you’re chewing.

Nice. I’ve been wanting to go all out and get a steak like this but my wife is Peruvian and she loves her steak well done. Not a speck of pink. I’m trying to find a way to cook it without her knowing.

Why can’t I ever find wagyu like this at my Costco
