Now I know this probably sounds illegal but hear me out lol. Idk if this a genius idea or not, but some time ago I really wanted to make kimchi jjigae but I didn’t have any rice or tofu to go with it. So instead I made into a noodle dish using the thin wheat noodles that are used for bibimguksu… honestly it was pretty good.

    Looks great!

The thing about Korean food is that any combo that works for you is a good combo. There are no absolutes for everyday foods.

Sometimes, I add frozen dumplings as a rice sub. Throwing in anything is better than waiting for rice to cook. I totally relate! Lol

You’re one of many who do this! Not saying this in a “hater” way, rather letting you know you’re in good company! Some other variations are japchae noodles (clear, sweet potato noodles) or a pack of ramen noodles. Its sooooo good

I like to add glass noodles (mung bean noodles) to kimchi Jjigae.

I add shiritaki noodles for a low-carb/calorie option. Same with my soondooboo.

Absolutely not weird. I do this all the time, when there isn’t enough gooksoo I just add water and ramen to it.
