These little patties can be found at little Japanese delicatessens here in Hawaii. They are so delicious and just round out a yummy bento. Here’s how to make it yourself!

1 russet potato, diced into 1/4 inch cubes
1 can corned beef
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. thinly sliced green onions
2 Tbsp. minced onion
1/3 tsp. pepper
Flour
Oil for frying.

Cook diced potatoes in boiling water until soft and well cooked. Drain well and cool. Combine the corned beef, egg, green onions, onion, pepper and cooled potatoes in a large bowl. Form into small patties and lightly dust with flour. Cook in a heated pan with oil until golden and cooked through.

  3. I know this video is 8 years old, but, I currently am in NYC, We are not leaving the apt, due to this virus, I have 2 cans of corned beef hash. I like it, I bought it in January during the annual 1/2 price can can sale. I usually eat it with eggs sunny side up, the bride wont eat it. I showed her this recipe and she said she would try it. Bingo, its a winner. We used 1 can corned beef hash, 1 egg jumbo (from the freezer) and onion powder(we ran out of onions about 2 weeks ago), had 3 inch green onion from the window sill pot, we had growing, black pepper, and dusted the outside patties in flour, fried them. It was our dinner last night on our lockdown, we had it with a can of progresso soup. We made it thru another day , Thank you

  4. I'd serve these up on a toasted onion roll maybe with some horseradish sauce or horseradish cheese. Some Dijon potato salad and a cold dark ale. Yow!

  5. Love these, the only thing I do differently is no green onion (I will have to try that) and I cook the onions in butter first and add it to the potato/corned beef mixture. Brings the taste of the onions out! 😉
