8 ounces elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon granulated sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1 carrot, grated
2 tablespoons onion, diced
Directions:
Heat a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add salt and a splash of oil to the water. Then cook the macaroni according to package directions. You’ll want to cook the noodles just past al dente.

In a large bowl add mayonnaise, milk, sugar, salt, and pepper. Whisk to combine.
Then add the mayonnaise mixture to the macaroni noodles and stir to combine.

Know that everybody in their grandma has their own way of making mac salad but this is mine so hell am i come along and let’s make some Hawaiian macaroni salad first we’re gonna make the noodles to a pot add salt and oil the oil will help prevent the noodles from sticking once
The water starts to boil go ahead and add the noodles and cook according to package directions make sure you stir intermittently to prevent the noodles from sticking stun remove the noodles from heat drain rinse and return to the bowl then add apple cider vinegar and stir to ensure that
All noodles are coated set this aside and allow to cool slightly next we’re going to dice up a round on me little trick that I like to do cut off the end leave the root intact then you’re going to cut little slivers like this turn it
And you’re going to cut across the onion like this and then cut down to create little diced pieces if some of the pieces are too big you can go through and dice it up on master and go ahead and set the onion aside next the carrot make sure you peel it
Then cut off the end on the top and I find it best to use a grater be careful not to cut your hands and you’ll run the carrot up and on the grater like this so you get fine pieces And when you’re done set the card aside now for the sauce to a bowl add meal milk sugar and some salt and pepper go ahead and whisk that up until everything is well combined then you’re gonna take the elbow macaroni and pour the Mayo mixture in then the carrots and the onion then
Mix everything until well combined it’ll look a little soupy at this point but don’t worry it’ll come together once chilled once mixed you’ll cover it with plastic wrap or the plastic wrap alternative of your choice and place in the fridge to cool for at least two
Hours once cool go ahead and remove the plastic wrap give it one final stir and enjoy And that’s how you make Hawaiian macaroni salad if you like this recipe and you want to check out some of my other recipes I have a recipe for other Hawaiian dishes here and if you like desserts check out this one and until next time we hope thank you for watching my mom’s video You

How long will this keep in a container? I want to make a batch for when I pack lunches for school. Like if I make a large batch, can I eat it for 3 or 4 days? If itโs in a sealed container in the refrigerator?
Nice
Sorry to break it ya but adding oil to the water does not reduce the stickiness in pasta.
Is this using 1 pound box of pasta?
I am prepping the ingredients right now but using a red onion. It should be ok. ๐บThanks for the fantastic recipe. ๐โค
I like this version that adds a bit of finely flaked down tuna also. So I probably will use this recipe with the added tuna and I should have the mac salad I have been missing.
Pretty good authentic. Take note. ๐
This Mac salad is just like the ones I'm used to getting when I buy a lunch plate. Very tasty.
Please any kind of milk ?
Thanks for the amazing recipe! My local restaurant here in California charges $6 for 2 scoops and it gets expensive since we all like extra Mac salad ๐ .
I doubled your recipe and it cost me about $10 to make. ๐
Daughter requested Mac salad for her birthday side dish and this was ๐ฅ Thank you!
Noodles? I thought these were considered โpastaโ??? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Cool I've never tried it with onions before.

First time I had Hawaiian food was a few months ago at a restaurant near me. They give so little of this but itโs so good thanks a lot for posting!
Thanks for sharing. Made this for my daughters party and it was a hit. Got a request to make it again tonight for a party tomorrow. My family approves, Thanks โค
How much mayo, apple cider vinegar, milk, sugar?
As soon as I saw you salt your water with a salt shaker and put oil in the water, I peaced out. ๐
If youโre going to show the world how to cook, at least practice correct cooking techniques so that your viewers (and you) donโt adopt your techniques.
Water should be almost as salty as the sea. Your pasta should be well seasoned BEFORE itโs out of the water.
Oil, on the other hand is pointless, and creates a thin layer of oil on the pasta, making the sauce/dressing harder to stick to it. It doesnโt matter if they stick together after you cook the pasta – the mayo will loosen everything up again when you mix it.
Just a thought.
Just made it, you really know your stuff!! It was delicious!
Thanks!!!
LOOKS AMAZING! I WAS SHOWN TO ADD TUNA AND SOFT BOILED EGGES. SO SO YUMMY!!!!!
Love your presentation ๐๐ค๐ฝ

You means it pairs great with fried chicken on Sunday afternoon after church ๐๐ aloha sis…
Leave out the vinegar, and salt use brown sugar instead of white. Add celery, bell pepper and pimento.
I like to add blk olives and sweet bell peppers. If i don't carrots.
love this recipe!
Iโve seen videos where they use sweet condensed milk instead of sugar ๐ค๐ค๐ค
I love your straight to the point style. This looks amazing.
Onions? Gross… such a waste of food

My sister visited from the mainland last week and requested for me to make a good potato/macaroni salad for our beach picnic . So I was in search for a recipe and came across this recipe. I attempted to make tripling the recipe as I have a big family . Everyone raved so much about it and was
all eaten at the beach! My boyfriend loved it so much he asked me to make it again . So I did last night ๐
