Some people like mickey mouse pancakes other people like french toast growing up and to this day my favorite breakfast is probably corned beef hash and usually that hash or whatever you really want to call it it was made by a small mom and pop company some of you might have heard of it
Hormel foods the potato cat food mixture thing came right out of the can and uh man was it delicious for real i’m not kidding i’ve eaten countless varieties of corned beef hash over the years and the canned hormel stuff is is up there it’s right up there on right
Up there in papa’s trophy case however today we’re going to do things slightly different i’m sitting on a lot of leftover corned beef from a previous video so we’re gonna make corned beef hash the non-world war ii ration way and make it with real ingredients to
Make corned beef hash we need corn to beef this herb is homemade but feel free to use store-bought stuff if you like all corned beef is simply beef brisket that’s been cured and simmered until tender it makes for great leftovers and an even better breakfast hash
I’m cutting my beef into a large well i guess more like an extra large dice because that’s the way that i like it but you could also shred the beef by hand cube it smaller you know it’s really your call you are the beef lord once your ingredients are prepped bring
A large heavy bottomed skillet to medium high heat these are just some russet also called idaho potatoes i dig these for making hash start by dropping a tablespoon or two of butter then two diced taters then season with salt cook the potatoes over medium high heat until they’re really brown on each side
If you feel like they’re gonna burn just keep them moving with your spatula whatever cooking utensil you’re using take your time on this step remember that colorful food is flavorful food this should take somewhere between five maybe ten minutes or maybe a little more a little less
Use your common sense once nice and gb go ahead and add in that one and a half cups of diced onion then season again cook that down for another couple minutes the onions are going to release water into the pan and begin to sweat once aromatic after a few minutes add in the
Tablespoon of fresh chopped thyme followed by the two cloves of minced garlic stir that around and cook for another couple minutes now for the pista resistance go ahead and add in that two and a half cups of the corned beef i’m a bp guy so in with a bit of that
Then i like to finish with some chopped parsley just to kind of brighten things up Yeah and that’s that’s pretty much it pretty simple corned beef hash is a great thing to whip up in bulk for a group of hungry slash probably hungover buddies after a long night that or you know to your well-rested girlfriend and self after an early night of watching tv and doing absolutely nothing
Either one works if you’re feeling like a fancy boy you can also serve this hash with some fried or you know in this case poached eggs it’s not very tradish but i am a sucker for chili oil so this is just how i do it you know but
Feel free to get creative sometimes i’ll throw a medley of veggies in the mix other times some bacon finds its way in there this dish is really more of an idea than a recipe so have fun with it Okay what do we got here yeah yeah do this anyway i hope this video wasn’t too corny for you [Laughter] thank you so much for watching and i will see you next week

May I ask you if your ancestors were from post-soviet countries?
What I appreciate most about your content is how succinct it is. A lot of "Foodtube" tends to be super padded and filled with not-food.
I am the beef lord… I, am the beef lord. I like this
My apologies for the criticism, but I feel this should be pointed out: that's corned beef which has already been cooked. I listened to the video and checked the description and you do say "simmered until tender," but that part may be easy to miss, I'm afraid. Corned beef can be boiled, baked, braised, grilled, smoked…but this recipe must use pre-cooked or already-cooked corned beef.
Are you related to MJF…
I don’t know if you have an Original Pancake House near you, but they have a sublime CBH with poached eggs. And a fantastic apple pancake to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Not really cooking content but your hash reminded me of that tasty dish.

That spoon for the chili oil is the shit…. where did that come from?!
I’d pay good money for that breakfast, it looks smashing
Broadcast corned beef hash was the best. Less greasy than Hormel..
Were your potatoes precooked?

That looks good.
A corned beef hash without worcestershire sauce is a sin!!!
This the best food video I ever seen. It was entertaining and short but I feel I got a lot. Great personality.
Start out a cooking video with the unsanitary act of clapping shower shoes over the cutting board. Yummy!
Great video, great food. As others said, succinct but a good vibe.
😃"Colorful food is Flavorful".!!! 🙄"Use your common sense" ???
Thank you so much for this simple recipe. I’m making it today for my son.
