1st batch of chili for 2024. Been cooking 24 hours so far. 1 lb Bob Evans sausage, 2 lbs ground chuck, 1 lg can tomato sauce, 2 lg cans crushed tomatoes, 1 sm can diced tomatoes, 1 sm can each no salt added dark red kidney beans and pinto beans, drained, 1/2 cup pearl barley, Goya Adobo seasoning. Brown meat, add to pot. Add liquid ingredients, beans, mix thoroughly. Season to taste. Cook on low 10-12 hours. Add barley, continue cooking.

    Chili is the best. You can make it meaty af, vegan, beans/no beans. Hell I won a chili potluck contest with ghost pepper chili that was hot as hell! And I don’t even remember the recipe I just put it together. Talk about food hacks.
