Thanks for watching the video [Insert Video Title Here]

We’re Carlo and Nikki and we live in posetano Italy our house is far from the road but it overlooks the sea and we grow our own food we show you what it’s really like living year round on the Amalfi Coast so please subscribe and welcome to the posano

Diaries these guys have been back from Athens for a few days now how did it go did you have fun yeah how is the face food Amazing is is the feta cheese different from the feta here not too much okay so you’ve made some videos I can see why don’t we have a look and see what you got up to when you were in Athens see what We have a choice what is the choice the choice is to either go toia in Spain Athens Greece or shamash Shake which is in Egypt so shamash Shake is more like a relaxing kind of trip and then the other two are more like visiting the city

In uh so I think we’re going to go to aens in the end for now this is our Deion we’ll tell you to change welcome Daddy I want to show you our accommodation in at we just arrived in at we’re starting a new family adventure here and we just arrived at

The apartment hey y this is the living room okay wow this is Sky hello Sky hello and this is our kitchen oh wow it’s fantastic the bedroom number one bedroom the view is not the best but this apartment is near the Metro wow and the parking this is the first day in aens

And uh my first impression is this is a very beautiful city I meet a lot of people very young people and uh yeah we saw a lot of people we didn’t meet any people so we are on the Main Street one of the main streets nothing um this is where all the shops Are so the cool thing about this church this is a Greek Orthodox church and uh it’s in the middle of like the shopping streets which just seems like it comes out of nowhere can you see the Acropolis from here We are in monasteri Square Hi hello everybody everywhere right yeah my father is Greek my mother was American I want to meet with them and to show them a little bit around to have some time with them yeah they cost a fortune whoever is lucky enough to live in any of these houses uh yeah they’re very very Expensive so here we have Greek horo salad wow with feta Capers Greek olives tomato onion and pepper a typical hortico salad this is jaiki this is my favorite now this is dolmades which are stuffed grape leaves and they’re stuffed with rice thanks to cadilla we had a great

Lunch here in Athens and had a great time I’m really happy you enjoyed it and I think we’re about what a few kilos heavier yeah are we probably yeah bye Bye after our big lunch and separating from Carla we went to see the famous acropo the city looked amazing from up there and the Setting Sun painted The Ruins with a beautiful golden Light Good morning this is the third day in at and now we go in m and napia okay have a good day Tomas thank You it’s incredible how much big is this store it’s massive it’s Huge walking around the ruins made us hungry so we drove to Naf and stopped off for Lunch homi This is a local pie I’m pretty sure that inside there’s F cheese egg Plants I got the fried squid you got the fish without even asking they brought us res apples with cinnamon and Honey it’s time for Dessert the fourth day in Athens we watch the change of the Gods with a special ceremony that they do on Sundays he visited morun and of course went to liabo Hill to see The View Now we’re going to try to go to the national museum of Athens it’s the biggest Museum in the whole of Gree [Applause] For [Laughter] today we left the city we’re leaving later on today and for the day we took the car we’re going on a road trip along the coast and we’re going to go to Cabos The trip in AA finished here we return to airport now leave the car take the plane and go to Rome A couple of days after they got back from Athens it was a beautiful day and every every morning we take the dogs out for walk and Carlo when I was in england got into the habit of going for a walk with an old friend of ours fabito and we

Decided to go for a dog walk with fabino that morning so we quickly got dressed grabbed a little bottle of water and off we went except it turned out to be just a little bit more than a dog walk we started at the BBL of Mont puso which is

Basically where the road splits to either go left up to Mon puso and right into Positano and there’s a little staircase up there that leads up to a place called capod aqua that in itself is quite a walk cuz it’s uphill all the way and we started walking up there

Because it wasn’t a planned walk I didn’t really film anything luckily I did film a few bits for Instagram and Carla was randomly filming little bits along the way so we do have some footage to show you which I’ll interpers in here as I tell the story if you’ve read my

Book a Bo full of lemons you might recognize this mountain pathway that I’m on at the moment it winds its way up from the top of town High into the mountains but it’s very very thick and Woody and just down below there’s a little Pond we arrived at capod daqua where

There’s a house up there I think you can actually stay there and it’s got a little seesaw outside the front and we turned left you can also go go behind the house and keep going up the mountain but we turned left and headed towards a place that’s basically above the coast

Road so the Coast Road between sento and patano um is quite high up the mountain but this is a pathway that follows it but way way way up I think something like I’m going to say 800 M but that might that might not quite right but

It’s quite high up anyway um at one point there was a tree that had fallen down it was a pine tree and FAO climbed onto it and came back with two big lumps of pine sap which is basically great for incense and he was going to give them to

The SP to burn and we kept going and we kept going and we kept going we’ve arrived to this point still going this is a pathway for expert excursionists and I do not feel very expert at the moment but we’re going to keep going it’s a little bit scary Is taking us to a house we’re way above the Coast Road you can see that winding down there and he’s taking us to this house which is and house was still another half hour away so we stopped for a break there eventually we got to this house and yes

It was lovely it was beautiful and I thought at that point we were going to turn back we’ve arrived at the house is sweet but what a n who would live here I mean taking us about 2 and a half hours to get here there’s no other way But then for said oh but if we carry on um we can go up to Santa marid Castello and then have lunch there and then we can just come back down afterwards I thought we were going to start walking back now but no we’ve decided to carry on going and it’s going to be just another 2 and 1 half hours to get to the top of the mountain and then we’ve got to get all the way back down the other

Side again and we haven’t got any food with us so hopefully there’ll be a restaurant open at the top somewhere oh dear and so we started climbing and we started climbing and we kept going and we got Higher and Higher and eventually we got to this place called the Gate of

ARA aola is a town above sento it’s 8 miles away and suddenly we were 10 minutes walk from aola I don’t even know how we got up there I’ve never done this pathway before so we’ve just climbed up and up and up and up and this is an old

Toall gate this is the uh Cana and we’ve always only got to get all the way up there now we are now heading to Santa castella hopefully it’ll be less than 2 hours and 10 minutes thought I was going to die uh we didn’t have anything to drink we had one little bottle of water but I made I

Saved that for the dogs and we just kept going up and Up getting hungry now that’s isia in the distance of course it was worth it for the views they were just incredible and the higher we got the more we could see we could see all the way down to the end of the peninsula you could see CI you

Could see isia the bear of Naples vus it was stunning that’s it we’ve done it we’ve just walked from patana to coli and climb the mountain and I’m dying top so this is called Monte Kona and it’s a huge flat mountain top look at that very Unexpected we eventually got up to San Castello and had a very very big lunch there and then we just had an hour’s walk back down to poano okay so here is a rough map of the route that we took winding our way up and along above the Coast Road and then

Going up and across the top of the mountain and then back down by Santa Maria de Castello by there was a little bit of the pathway I was literally clinging onto the strands of grass cuz it was really scary and I nearly cried at one point also because I

Wasn’t prepared I didn’t have my hiking shoes on I had my Timberland boots on which are fine but after after three or four hours they were starting to hurt a bit and I think if I’d had my hiking boots on I probably would have felt better And the next day I spent the whole day on the sofa and I didn’t get dressed and I didn’t go out and I didn’t do anything and I read my book all day long and that was worth it the next day I decided to get a

Couple of the old kitchen chairs and I wanted to strip them down to see what they look like without any paint or varnish of them CU I’m thinking that they could be reused in the house of Tuscany so that’s what we did and it was

Just nice to stay at home and not go out anywhere um so we put some paint stripper that’s the word we put some paint stripper on the chairs and then gradually started trying to of get it all Off And it took quite a while it was taking ages and then of course Carlo came along with his little special machine and did a whole chair in about half an hour taking me about 3 and a half hours to do half a Chair so we’ve got two chairs back down to Basics and now we’re going to decide if we want to stain them or paint them um we’re not going to take them to Tes straight away but we know we’ve got them if we need them BR a couple of things to finish off with if you’re wondering from last week’s video why I said I don’t really enjoy Christmas um a few people were asking is there a deeper reason well yes there is a deeper reason which I didn’t really feel like going into here but I have

Talked about it on my Patron for paid members so if you don’t know what Patron is it’s like a little private Club where you can basically join for the minimum price of €3 a month so the price for cappuccina costs absolutely nothing and I will share two or three times a week I

Will write a blog post or share some photos sometimes a little video sometimes I even organize a live Zoom call so it’s quite fun and you’re welcome to come and join in over there and what else if you’re looking for a last minute Christmas gift for somebody

Who loves Italy consider a copy of my book about full of lemons it’s available on Amazon I will leave the links for the main Amazon websites down on in the description box under this video but you can find it going into the book section on any Amazon and typing in a boat full

Of lemons and you should be able to find it there so that’s all we’ve got for this week next week we’re going to take you around the Amal Coast from sarento to patano to a malf and aani and show you what it looks like at Christmas time thank you everybody for watching and

We’ll see you next Week

  1. I have a life. In the US. I have children, grandchildren. I am a retired medical scientist, a Master Herbalist and an artist. I have two week to get rid of everything I own. What am I doing on a Sunday morning? Checking to see if you have uploaded your weekly video. Stopping everything when I see that you have, to watch it. No, I don’t need to get a life, I have one. And have had others. When you get older and feel you have given everything and anything work you offer now is a gift, you take the time to do what makes you happy. All of you, Nicky, Carlo, Tomaso, Skye are beautiful storytellers. I have become emotionally attached to each of you and wonder how you are. No, I am not crazy. Yes, I have friends. Good friends. I don’t collect people and object to people trying to collect me. I am perfectly okay. I just happen to enjoy a group of brilliant storytellers who are each smart and special and individual. Thank you for developing your channel in a way that offers me a warm hug, several smiles and the occasional belly laugh. You have a gift and you use it and share it with the world. God Bless You.

  6. Nicki….your lovely daughter has so many of your facial expressions, mannerisms and her English accent is adorable as her voice is almost identical to yours! This was a very nice film of Athens, by Carlo. Look out, Nicki……you have taught him how to film well but you are still the "Master" film-maker….but don't teach him how to edit or he might catch up to you! L.o.l.

  7. Another beautiful, but precarious hike. Greece trip was fun and beautiful , your right Carlo , the food looked excellent. It shows how great shape you two are in. Most people wouldnt be able to handle it. You all be very careful please, thats right Nikki, I was also thinking about soon you will be moving to your Tuscany home with lots to explore there too.

  16. Re: the walk of dragons & eagles: that guy is a goat. Carlos just smiling. Nicki, you are made of some strong stuff. Question: will you take another walk w/ Fabbie in charge again?

  17. I quickly learned to not watch your documentaries on an empty stomach. Every single plate of food you enjoy leaves my mouth watering. Stunning views as always – such a pleasure to experience it with you. I don't know how you breezed through that hike uphill as if it was a stroll through a little wooded area. I so enjoy your videos and the warmth you exude towards your viewers welcoming them into your lives. Thank you so much.

  18. I love the video. I am planning a trip to Greece next year Carlo Skye do you have any recommendations on things I should do or see? I love seeing all the things guys saw thank you for taking us along on your father, daughter, and son trip. everything in Italy so beautiful to me at least the walks up in the high mountains look wonderful. I love to hike and used to hike in the cascades near Seattle all the time as a teenager, I wish I could hike like I did before but my lungs are failing and going that high is out of the question. So I enjoy when you take us along. I can’t wait until January to see what your new beautiful house looks like until next adventure.

  19. Carlo, Sky and Tomasso – What was the name of the restaurant in Athena where you couldn't finish the food?

  20. Nicki, I'm very aware in using copyright music in youtube videos, so this old song I found tonight, won't be of much use to you!

I hope you and your family have a nice Christmas, and from an aussie (subscriber) thats spent time in the UK (I dearly miss attending the Christmas Day swim at Exmouth), I hope this song, helps you to keep inspired, to continue your great youtube channel. You've certainly made my life a better place, watching some of your youtube videos over the years 🙂

    Merry Christmas!!

  23. Just an idea for the gift giving…tell each other what the budget is and then go buy what you want for you. And then you give the bags to each other, open it up and exclaim…wow this is exactly what I wanted…how did you know! Sounds like a very good system…you knew what you wanted..a smaller rucksack!

  24. The English is improving for the men in the family.
I LOVE this entire video. Thanks guys.

  25. You mentioned you guys don’t get “free stuff” sent to you. It’s NOT free. If brands send you “gifts” they expect you to promote that gift in a video. That’s FREE ADVERTISING to them for as long as your video runs.
