Unexpectedly got upgraded – am I being churlish or is this a bit disappointing. First class, not business. Any recommendations? Be quick I won’t have internet for 9 hours!

Agree overall disappointing for international First Class. The Grand Siecle is likely the most premier/expensive. Far better selection on many other airlines – the few that still have real FC. .

Better wine list than on my most recent Upper Class flight on Virgin Atlantic. Which I guess isn’t saying much, but 🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. Well, there’s a reason that people call BA First “the world’s best business class”…

    LP

    Vieux Maillet

    Sauternes

    Then more Vieux Maillet

Actually, this is a vast improvement on what it used to be. There’s a new guy advising on the lists in-flight and in-lounge, and it has all definitely stepped up a notch. (to be fair, the bar previously was not that high)

Looks about the same as the last time I flew BA First. LPGS is some tasty stuff. My wife tried the Hattingley just to see what British sparkling was like, it wasn’t bad. I passed up on dessert for just a glass of the Sauternes.

What are you eating? I had the Te Tera.

Free wifi in first ! You should be able to get online

  7. Spam the LPGS. I did that last year when I flew EWR-LHR a few times. Given the disappointing nature of the other wines – relative to the expectations – that’s the best you’re going to get.

  8. It’s disappointing for a 1st class. I would go as first with LP champagne, then depending on the food either Burgundy white or Bordeaux red. Maybe they are boring choices but the menu is way more boring 😬 btw is there no free WiFi in the 1st class 😱⁉️

  9. BAs first is probably slowly being morphed into biz anyway like everyone else. Makes sense. Side note, I love when premium airline travel and wine crossover in this sub lol.

It’s far better than I’ve seen with any American airline.

But certainly disappointing compared to a lot of the foreign airlines that are well known for their first class fares.

  11. The table wines are disappointing. I’d be quite happy with the sparkling and dessert wines…

Definitely try the Hattingley BdN, it is *only* available through BA first class.

Ultra mid but a what do you expect from mid airlines

Pretty disappointing winelist..but the sparklings look good…and Dog Point (the Chardonnay is even better)…

The wines aren’t bad..but pretty much for 1st…

Not the best, but I’d slam the LPs! Do you know which Grand Siecle they are serving? I’d have to guess 25 or 26, either are great from what I’ve heard!

  16. This would be a good list for domestic economy premium. But disappointing for international first class.
