In much the same way I’d render down bacon to add flavor and cook onions, I’m using the leftovers from my brother’s restaurant meal. The rest of the ingredients are very inexpensive- dried beans, veggies and garlic, canned tomatoes, homemade stock, and garden herbs – and they’re really enhanced by the flavor from the leftover beef rib. I’m tickled that he saved it for me!

I followed the method from [this recipe](https://instantpoteats.com/instant-pot-bean-soup/) and tweaked quantities based on what I had (diced tomatoes and tomato paste rather than sauce, adding herbs, more veggies and stock, etc.), plus of course swapping out the bacon.
