Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place for it but searching for a recipe. I want a similar concept to this olive garden chicken recipe. I.E. the pasta is cooked separate. Looking for it to be a creamy shredded chicken with cheddar cheese, want to boil macaroni to add. And be able to top with (but not mix in) bbq sauce. I found some mac and cheese recipes but would prefer to do the pasta separate. Also found Buffalo mac and cheese chicken crockpot recipes but I’m a wimp when it comes to that and it’s not what I’m craving.

I’m admittedly not great at cooking. Maybe I could use this but substitute cheddar for parmesan, keep cream cheese? Double the cheese?? And omit dressing? But then I assume it would be FAR too dry.

Sorry this is so specific!

Also, have made the Olive Garden chicken a number of time and 10/10 reccomend its just not what I want right now. (Have a cold)

  2. Cheddar cheese instead of parmesan is an easy substitution. I think Velveeta would make more sense instead of cream cheese for a cheddar-based pasta dish, but cream cheese could be good too.

That Italian dressing has water, oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, cheese, garlic, and spices. Sugar and vinegar can come from the bbq sauce topping, and there’s already plenty of cheese. You just need to add water, oil, garlic, salt, and whatever other spices you feel like. For 3 chicken breasts I’d try 1 cup chicken stock (Provides water, salt, and chicken flavor), 1/2 cup of oil and two cloves of diced garlic in place of the Italian dressing. Spices can just be extra black pepper, or you could try mustard powder and oregano.
