Hello,

This may be more accurately in the Japanese food subreddit, but I bought it at Hmart (a Korean grocery chain).

Can someone tell me the simplest way to cook this? Ideally pan frying or air fryer. Also, do I need to rinse it or is it fine as is since it’s already been salted and guts removed?

It’s supposed to be dinner for today so any advice appreciated, thanks! I searched online but I could only find recipes of sanma starting from non-salted saury and over grill, which I don’t have. Also don’t want to pull out the oven.

I also found this btw and I don’t know what the words are but it’s basically some sort of sweet vinegar, and I brought it up because I think it has the fish (or mackerel?) on front so I wonder if I should serve on the side lol

Salted saury is a common food in Korea, so this is appropriate here. Either pan-frying or air-frying works well, but I’d probably cook it in a pan in case it is hard to remove the smell from the air fryer afterwards.

I don’t think you have to rinse it unless you want to reduce the saltiness.

    Enjoy!

pan fry with a small amount of oil until crispy. I have eaten the salted H mart ones

    they are delicious!
