I’m making a beef poie pie because this meat is really good and we got it for a really good deal you see that price $927 it was originally $37 and y’all I have been fighting Daddy to not eat this he has been eyeballing it in the freezer

For some time but I knew that I wanted to do something good with it every two seconds he ask me so what you doing with that meting in so what you doing with the meting there and I’m like boy if you don’t leave that going stay alone cuz I

Came home one day he was like yeah I was thinking about putting it on the grill what or I was about to go ahead and cook it up what boy if we don’t leave this steak alone last night we made the chicken P Pie and today we’re going to

Make the beef papie so before you start you want to make sure you take your puff pastry out the freezer so you can take it out the freezer and put it in the refrigerator or just take it out and leave it on your counter you also are

Going to need some carrots and we’re going to make this pie pie different than the chicken pie p we have some garlic and that’s it for now I want y’all to keep watching so I’m not going to tell you everything up front we going to do it together and step by step okay

I’m going to go ahead and prep the vegetables I’m going to go ahead and grab that other onion out the refrigerator also for this recipe tonight we’re going to put some potatoes in this pot pie and this is actually our second video for today using potatoes for breakfast I made danishes tble eggs

And sausage this is the other half of that bag right there so I’m going to use half of this onion since I already have this half as well oh my God y’all look at this what’s one word that would describe this go ahead and comment down

Because if I see this I’m not going to want to eat this what is going on you can cut it you make it B this is how the carrot is supposed to look like this not those I don’t know what those are now you you can still cut this piece

Off and use it I’m not saying you can’t use it but this is a odd shape all right you guys so we’re moving right along so I have the carrots the onions and the garlic in this bowl I have the potatoes just soaking in this bowl so they won’t

Turn brown because we’re not going to use these Until the End these steaks are pretty big so I may be nice and give Daddy on I don’t think we’re going to need as much of the filling like we did last night with that chicken pie pie hopefully this is going

To yield enough steak pieces because y’all already know when you eat a a poie pie or like a beef stew you eat out certain things before the other parts but I’m going to go ahead and take it out this package and clean it just rinse

It off and then I’m going to bring it back on the cutting board so we can cut it up now I don’t think I mentioned to you guys what type of steak this is this is a t- bone steak and what I’mma do is you guys have seen this cut up meat so

Many different times but this is the bone right here the t- bone it’s like a tea and then it runs right there so what we’re going to do is cut it off the bone okay I’m just trying to cut around the bone first so that way it’ll

Be easier for me to cut it into pieces so that’s one little whole steak slice right there let set that to the side and then we going to do the other side piece right here still have a little piece over here so I’m just following the bone you

Guys to get this meat o so now what we’re going to do is go ahead and start slicing it into pieces the marble is going this way so what we’re going to do is cut it that way that’s what they consider cut cutting Against the Grain

So your pieces of steak will be nice and tender once you bite into it because no one wants to eat you know a hard piece of steak okay so I’mma slice it up first and then we can dice it up now we can go ahead and Cube them up

Now also you going to notice that some of these pieces are going to have that c in it and if you squeeze it hard enough it’s like really hard you actually can put that piece to the side in the the throwaway pile because it’s going to be

Really hard to chew you just going to be like chewing on it for days and then end up spitting it out because you can’t even eat it so if you feel like any of those hard hard pieces just put those to the side y’all you can use that and like

The broth or something if you really don’t want to waste the meat but that’s not a piece that you would want to serve okay you guys so we’re back with the Dutch oven tonight again for this recipe I’m going to go ahead and start out with

Some oil for our vegetables there you go now y’all can see a little bit better right you got to see what’s going on in the pan so we going to go ahead and start out by just sweating these vegetables out getting them s some yesterday we made our own chicken

Broth today we not going to do that so we’re pretty much going to do the opposite of what we did yesterday and that pie pie was really good y’all so let’s hope we got the same success with this one today okay on okay y’all so this is just some regular iron

Dy salt I’m just going to add a pinch of that in here to season those vegetables up add a little bit of pepper you can already start to smell the the onion and the garlic and I just turned this pan down some so everything won’t burn on the

Bottom okay so the vegetables are looking good and with this Dutch oven you got to make sure you keep them moving so it won’t stick to the pan once we get the stock part going then I’ll add in that other part of the bone but for right now we just want to

Get the beef in here so it can start to get a little a little bit of color on it and a little bit of Browning okay I’m always going to double dip meaning I’m going to use both the fresh and the powder because it just gives it maximum flavor so that’s the garlic and the onion powder I’m going add some more pepper to this because in the beginning it really didn’t add enough and then Daddy going

To have a nerve last night to say oh you could added the little bit more pepper in that chicken pie pie y’all if y’all watch the video you seen how much I added right because they always say I’m heavy-handed with the black pepper so I

Don’t try to add as much so this time I don’t add as much as I think I need and now they saying well you could add a little bit more I’m like look you going have to add it to your own this time right so the next thing I’m going to add

Is some of this saon because I just tasted the Ste so you do need to you know add a little bit of salt or some type of seasoning to give it some flavor I wish we had some more the steak seasoning um but we don’t have anymore

And that’s one thing I do have to get from the store the next time it’s some more like you know steak seasoning itself so all right so this is looking good now we’re going to go ahead and add in some flour yeah I’ve been on this little uh

King auor flour the last couple times I bought some so I really like it you know versus the regular store brand flour or the self risen flour so comment down below if you do like the king Al the brand or what’s the best brand of flour

That you use you want to go by the amount of oil that’s in the pan already so right now you can see it’s a good enough enough amount in here and that oil is going to help us cook the flour out so I’m going to add

About like a four cup because the flour is also what’s going to help thicken up your broth so you want to make sure you add a good enough amount so think of it like you’re making uh beef stew that’s like the easiest way I can describe what we’re making right

Now and you just going to keep stirring this flour around for at least 3 to 5 minutes do not add in your liquid just yet because you don’t want the broth to taste just like you added a bunch of flour to it and then don’t worry about

The bits on the bottom of the pan once we add in our liquid which is going to be some water because we’re going to make our own like beef broth it’s going to come up okay so now we going to go ahead and start to add in our

Water and I had the measuring cup filled all the way to the top and I’m also going to add some potatoes in here so I’m going to add a little bit more water than what you think you need because those potatoes are going to soak up a lot of that water

Also and right now I’m going to go ahead and just put this bone in there because that’s going to add the broth some flavor so this is the better than beef buan so pretty much we’re making our own beef stock while using this so I’m going to use about a teaspoon of

That and we going to add some so I’mma add in a handful of bay leaves just like that and I’mma turn my heat up some so it can start to come up to a boil this pot here you want to taste your bro see what it’s tasting

Like I’mma go in with another round of seasonings because this is one of those things where you tasting as you go and adjusting the flavors so a little bit more garlic the onion powder I wish I had like some moer shy sauce or some more oyster sauce so it

Can add a little bit more depth to this but that’s okay um going to add some cayenne pepper to give it a little bit of spice just a little bit and I’mma add a little bit more of the buan so total like a big old tablespoon okay so I’m going to let this

Come up to temperature and summer let these flavors come to together and then you know if we still need to add something then we can add something and then you want to make sure you flavor it good before you add your potatoes in there because once you add your

Potatoes that seasoning is going to soak into the potatoes so you can’t have the Bland broth and then the Bland potatoes so you got to make sure this is really flavorful before you add in your potatoes so we going to let that simmer for about 15 20 minutes and then we’ll

Check it so now I’m going to add the potatoes and you can pretty much add whatever vegetables you want to I’m not going to add the mixed vegetables tonight because we did do that last night and I want to do this one in a different way but if you want to add the

Mixed vegetables that’ll be good too that’s good y’all it’s getting that nice Rich beef flavor that I’m looking for and only thing I still want to add is some more pepper I’m not terrible actually I’mma go ahead and turn the oven on it’s about to get hot up in this

Kitchen again and I’mma put it on um 400 so as you can see the the gravy is still little loose than what I’m looking for right now so we going to go ahead and thicken it up some this is the corn starch flurry that you just seen me make so I’m just going to add that I also bought this garlic

And herb butter I only used it twice so this will be the third time pretty much after two uses depending on what you using it for cuz I’ve been using it to cook so I’m going to add that in here too so a nice big old

Little scoop of that it does give it a nice flavor let me cut this pot up a little bit so we can get this gravy thickened up some and these soups are the perfect time you know if you’re sick right now if you don’t want to put it in

The pot pie then just eat it on the side and then you can put a little slice of garlic bread or something for some crackers to dip it in okay you guys so the pie crust is out the oven now we going to go ahead and

Start to put it together so for the egg wash we’re going to take a egg and then whatever liquid you have on hand of using this heavy cream up so I’m just going to add a little bit to this and that’s that and for the puff pastry

Like I say you have to take it out and unth it first so that way you can be able to you know work with it so I’mma put it on a plate for now but it comes like this and it’s a sheep now who going to eat the bone right there yes that’s

Going to be some good eating right there to take this little piece of meat right off that bone y’all I’mma look back and it’s going to be gone okay so right now I’m just going to go ahead and fill this pie up and you can see the consistency of

The gravy like it’s it’s thick that’s what you want like it’s not like runny and you can see the carrots you can see the potatoes you can see everything and I’mma fill it all the way to the top as much as we can get in here oh see I’m always there go another

Bait I could have thwn it with some more any I thought I had a more don’t worry I’m going clean this little tray off a little bit before we put it in the oven so it doesn’t burn trying not to Scamp y’all on the filling but so the one thing that I’m

Going to do differently today is I’m not going to um trim any of the packr okay I’m just going to leave it just like that make y’all go watch the video from last night you going to see why I’m saying what I’m saying as far as

Not trimming it off we just going to leave it just how it is I’m just going to tuck the little edges up Some just going to pinch it a little bit just to give it so it won’t be hanging off so kind of like you know just mold it over top of the pan and then we going to go ahead and do our brush with the egg wash right on top so if

This is your first time watching the egg wash is going to give this pastry a nice pretty brown color that you want to see and make sure you get those edges don’t forget about those you know they are party to party too y’all don’t forget them now okay

Especially all the little ashy flour pieces make sure you get that that’s the most important piece to get you just want to make sure you take a sharp knife so what I think I’m going to do tonight is let’s go in with one and I’mma put a little slot over

There it’s kind of hard to cut this too y’all okay so if you ever done this before you know what I’m talking about it is a little complicated but just trying to put some type of little design on the top so this is something that we’re
