I purchased one directly from Anova on sale and received a box with model number AN500-CA00 which the App tells me the hardware is model A4.

I was gifted one from Amazon and received a box with model number AN500-US00 which the App tells me the hardware model number is A5.

The Anova direct model (A4) was about $30 less (on sale) and is LOUDER and has a different display setup where the entire face is backlit… the A5 doesn’t light up the entire face only the number read-out.

The A4 impeller is louder, but also the alerts are louder and much longer.

They both have different firmware versions, and both claim to have firmware updates available but neither will update.

Overall I like the A5 model better, for what it’s worth… The A4 model has a more annoying whine which is a show-stopper although I’m discovering that the timer on the A5 is not accurate (runs long, like 30 minutes on a 12 hour cook… after it came it up to temp too). The display differences are neither here or there for me, but I do like the longer alarm tones on the A4.

Sure wish the firmware would update so I could see if that fixes the timer.

Anyone else have the same model but two different versions?
