Until recently I never ordered burgers at taco trucks. Turns out that Mexican hamburgers can be quite elaborate and are not to be slept on.
This one is from Casita Nicole on Menchaca. I’ve also had some great ones at Las Amazonas on S 1st.
I wouldn’t have even known about this if it weren’t for Cuantas Hamburguesas. I hope that Mexican hamburgers become a more widely explored and appreciated part of local food culture!

Is a hamburger a torta?
Nice! How much?
Also, what burger is it and what was in/on it?
OK gonna hit up casita Nicole tomorrow — thanks for the tip!
Need fries cooked in lard to be authentic Mexican Cusine.
What makes a hamburger Mexican?
Looks like Tacos Las Amazonas on S. Congress. 🔥🔥
It really is a good truck, stop by for the occasional Machete
I fucking love Mexican burgers! They hit way harder than the American burger which is size of patty = good. Mexican burgers are like how much stuff can we stick into these buns that also taste good asf
add a fried egg to a hamburger, that’s the latinamerican way!
Casita Nicole makes amazing burgers. My orders are 50% machetes and 50% burgers.
Amazonas is the first time I tried hotdogs on a burger and I love it. The mix of the soft hot dog texture with the firmer chewier burger texture is amazing.
Haven’t tried Nicole’s yet but it looks really good.
Taco Joint also has a very tasty Mexican Burger as well!
Casita Nicole is amazing. Make me miss living down south.
I can’t say this enough times, Jimmy’s Big Burgers on Stassney and Congress. Absolutely the best burger on the south side. You’re welcome.
