I was thinking I could do chicken, pork, and maybe some kind of queso dip for a taco night? Maybe make a hot, mild, and veggie chili? Are soup parties a thing? Can I have people over and we all have soup?

Taco meat, refried beans, nacho cheese. Soups sound good as does a variety of chili.

This setup looks majestic for dinner parties (although it might be a bit overkill), and it would be perfect for my board game nights! I noticed it has a ‘keep warm’ function, so you can use it not only for cooking but also to keep things warm, whether you’ve prepared them in your standard kitchen or ordered them from somewhere—imagine having schnitzels in first compartment, potatoes in another, and keeping a warm soup in the third. I’d definitely cook and serve some chili con carne with warm rice in this setup

Where that thing really shines is keeping different foods warm at a party, like dips.

They’re also useful for meal prepping, as you can cook a protein with a couple of different flavor profiles. I like to buy a large pack of 6 chicken breasts and cook in each pot. I usually cook one ‘regular’ (salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, garlic), one Italian (salp, pepper, garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning),and then one either buffalo or teriyaki.

I’ve also made three different chili recipes at once to accommodate different tastes and dietary restrictions.

My immediate thought was different fondues…

You’re now obligated to have a party.

    Options:

    * Baked potato bar with chili, hot cheese (Velveeta and rotel melt into gold), and a hot dip like spinach and artichoke.

    * Taco bar: ground meat, cheese sauce, refried beans and/or rude rice.

    * Pasta bar: marinara, aflredo sauce, and meatballs.

    * Swedish meatballs, baby potatoes, and a vegetable or soup.

    * Soup party: Any three soups. One vegan, one vegetarian and one meat. (Label the vegan one “accidentally vegan” to avoid people having fits.)

Buy the *Great American Slow Cooker Cookbook* because it gives the amounts for 2.5-3 quart cookers plus two larger sizes because just halving recipes doesn’t always translate. It’s also devoid on the stereotypical “a can of this, a can of that, and a packet of seasoning” recipes, which you can get for free online anyway.

I’ve never actually seen stuff cooked in these, just because each compartment is so small. We use it for serving during Christmas parties.

  7. Empowered_Empath

Lots of meatballs. Different types of meatballs

  8. DogIsBetterThanCat

Small pulled pork, mac and cheese, maybe a green bean or corn side to keep warm.

  9. Acenterforants333

I have one like this. I don’t really cook in it because it’s not big enough but it keeps all our taco stuff perfectly warm when we have taco night.

This thing looks epic. I would absolutely attend a soup party.

For parties you should do dips. Buffalo chicken, spinach artichoke, jalapeño popper dip, hot onion dip, pizza dip, queso, crab dip, bean dip.

Football food- Buffalo dip, spinach dip, grape jelly and chili sauce meatballs

  13. PursuingEnouement

Part of a sundae bar with carmel, hot fudge and butterscotch!

You could also do warm fruit fillings with biscuits, pancakes or waffles! I have a double sided crockpot and it’s comes in handy! We’ve done combos of: egg casserole, gravy, cinnamon roll bread and pancake bread

  14. CowperfluidMDPsyD

    Rotel/queso dip, pulled pork, meatballs

My mom used to use hers mostly for holidays to keep stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy warm. I think a soup party sounds fun though! I also like the meatball idea in the comments – my husband hates meatballs but I love them, so I would make one with meatballs, and the other two with stuff we both like, like chili or soup or something. This might be heresy, but sometimes I make chicken parm in the crockpot if I don’t feel like doing the work for real chicken parm. I would use two for the chicken and one for extra sauce.

    Edit: spelling

bring it to work and cook three large roasts to assert dominance

I use mine for big family get together and holiday dinners. Thanksgiving I kept gravy, stuffing and a veggie dish in mine for a buffet style dinner.

  18. jwillison50

We use ours the most for parties for an Ice cream bar. We put hot fudge, caramel, and peanut butter in for hot toppings

  19. I_Snype_4_Fun

Y’all had a holiday party for MLK day?

  20. Mississippianna

Soup parties can definitely be a thing. You’re poised to make it a thing. This falls under the category of something I’d never buy but would use the hell out of if I got it as a gift.

I have soup suppers with friends. I make the soups, another friend brings sandwiches & another friend brings a salad, another friend brings dessert. The suppers are held at my house because I have a finished basement with a hot tub!! Love it!

    We are all couples BTW!!

  22. It’s good for game day stuff…

Queso, chili for chili dogs…stuff like that 😁

  23. DragonForeskin

This would probably be crazy for week long meal prep. I had no idea they made these.

  24. WerewolfNo890

Looks interesting, though I think if I had the choice I would rather 3 separate slow cookers.

  25. Majestic_Grocery7015

These are fantastic for holiday meals and get togethers. My aunt uses hers at Thanksgiving,  Christmas,  etc to hold the veggies. There’ll be corn, peas and brussels sprouts. She also uses it for a taco bar for game nights with chicken in one, beef in another and queso or refried beans in the third.

  26. Luna_Petunia_

I would love to attend a soup party. That sounds awesome.

  27. cooknferment

Whhhaaaaa I’m jealous! Definitely do a taco bar, or maybe an Ethiopian buffet

OP, you can have whatever kind of ‘party’ that you want. I threw a sundae party and it was a huge hit. I think that the adults had more fun with it than the kids did. I even threw a ‘Stone soup’ party: where everyone who came provided an ingredient for the soup. I had 2 kinds, one beef and one chicken based. But otherwise it was a mishmash of ingredients. I provided cornbread and crackers, drinks and desserts. It was a goofy idea, but wonderful as it was winter. We had a blast. My point is, don’t overthink. Just opening your home and heart with hospitality, is a big deal.

  29. I have something similar and use it for parties to keep things warm. I hadn’t thought to use it to cook in-quietly whispering I have too many other crockpots to cook in. But will definitely try it in the future.

There’s not a proper household in the rural south that doesn’t have the tri-slow cooker. One party I took mine with three types of boiled peanuts.

I’ve seen pulled pork, collard greens, baked beans.

  31. vinylisdeadagain

Double it, and give it to the next person?

  32. I have one of these and it’s the best thing ever if you’re hosting something at your house. Ex: we had Christmas at my house and we did breakfast burritos so we used it to keep the eggs, beans, and potatoes warm while everyone dished their food.

  33. _totally_tonya_

i also use mine for nacho/taco bars, different dips, etc when i entertain. it comes in handy for sure!

one of my closest friends is a vegetarian so this allows me to keep her food meat-free as well.
