I’ve set it to lose 1/2 lb per week, but I feel like I don’t actually lose anything (if I eat 1650, it usually takes a few weeks to lose 1/2 lb) and that I’m weighing all my food for nothing. It’s like I have to be 100% on top of things and extreme to lose weight, and I’ve shown myself I can lose the weight (I went from around 145 to 115 and started using Loseit halfway through that journey). But then as soon as I stop being extreme (I stop eating when I’m full, I go on walks and hikes but maybe I’m not running anymore), it climbs back up. I’m so fed up and tired.

Want to add: in the past, I lost weight by fasting, but now I’m on stimulant medications which make it sooo much harder to tolerate hunger. I am 5’2.
I’m the same height and 133 lbs right now, trying to get back to sub-125. My weight gain was also caused by a medication. I’m aiming for 1200 calories though, for 1 lbs of loss per week. Maybe try to modify your goal so you can see results sooner? It’s motivating when you see the results faster, plus we are short so 1 lbs is visible in a week.
When I was losing ~12lb. a month, I would do zero cardio and a lazy diet. Now that I’m at maintenance, I stay at a fairly substantial deficit, run 30 miles a week, and struggle not to gain from month to month.
Unfortunately, this is what makes dieting so difficult. It’ll definitely get you to your goal but it makes it so hard to stay at your new weight.
I’ve lost and am losing weight all over again after Effexor made me put on 50lb. Originally, I lost weight through 1200cal diet + daily cardio and was 115-125lb range.
When I gained the weight this time, it was a lot harder to lose and so I got a dietician and she basically said that I should stop skipping breakfast so that my metabolism kicks in earlier and makes me not as hungry and tired during lunch time.
I hate eating breakfast but now I drink high protein (fairlife milk + Greek yogurt + fruit) smoothies in the morning which are easier to stomach.
I also go to the gym 3x a week at least for 30 min incline walking. On top of that, I started doing morning yoga. I also dabble in strength training but I am not committed to it yet.
My dietician said the best way to lose and keep weight off is to make small adjustments to your normal diet, so you can keep on with these adjustments later.
For example, her goal for me is to dramatically increase my protein intake but it is up to me where I get that protein from. She suggested adding nuts into my diet so I have something to snack on and gave me a few people on tiktok that she follows for recipe ideas for high protein/low calorie dishes. She also suggested that I increase my step count to at least 7k steps a day.
I didn’t think I could lose weight following this because before only the 1200 cal diet worked for me but now I am eating 1950cals (I am 5ft 6) and losing 2lb/week and I have the energy to work out and I don’t feel so tired all the time.
I think it could maybe suit you better to find activities you enjoy and to eat a lot of protein based dishes even past the weight loss to maintain.
I feel this so hard… I’ve been losing and gaining the same 5 pounds for two months ugh
You could try carb cycling to boost your metabolism it’s just basically keto every other day wit a day off “reward day” other that add in more workouts maybe try HITT if you don’t have a lot of time 10-15 mins is all it is.
