So often with chain restaurants we find that their “Spicy” chicken sandwich is not that spicy but a little spice to appease the masses. Dave’s has a 7 level ranking: No Spice, Lite Mild, Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot and Reaper. Love the levels to it!! Beyond being spicy, the sandwich itself was delicious, their slaw added a great contrasting texture to the sandwich and Dave’s sauce is great as well! Do you have a Dave’s near you? Has anyone tried the Hot, Extra Hot or Reaper?

I’ve had 1 reaper tender and while it was good its a bit much for lunch the lips were on fire. However I usually get two extra hot tenders and while still hot I do fine with them. Perfect tingle still just not overwhelming

Yes! The farthest I went was extra hot and the next day was fucking painful…I can’t go beyond that and I don’t want too!

Bonus note:Fucking B-Dubs Carolina Reaper wings fucked me up the most out of any restaurant hotness I experienced

Dave’s got chicken is new to my area. A few weeks ago we tried some of their different spice levels. The reaper chicken had no spice to speak of. I was extremely disappointed.

My regular order now is an Extra Hot sandwich, perfect spice level when I want something genuinely hot but still enjoyable where I live. Funny story, the first time I went I ordered a Reaper Tender and Extra Hot Sandwich. They gave me a *Reaper Sandwich* and an *Extra Hot Tender*. I finished the Extra Hot Tender thinking it was the reaper and was unimpressed. Then I bit into the Actual Reaper Sandwich and it slapped me in the face. Though delicious at first, it was hard to truly enjoy that sandwich it was so damn hot.

I’ve had the reaper a few times. It has made me cry each time lol. I’d say it’s right past the line of “too hot to be truly enjoyable as a meal” for me. If it were a bit less spicy it would be perfect. When I’m looking for a meal rather than a thrill I get the other spice levels.

The spice levels are very inconsistent. I’ve had the reaper twice; once in Anaheim and once a few days later in Colorado Springs. The first was pretty tasty and kind of hot; the second was just as tasty but much, much, *much* hotter. Easily the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten by a country mile.

I have a pretty great tolerance for heat and the reaper I had was not enjoyable to eat. Waaaaay beyond what I was expecting or prepared for.

Dave’s opened up down the road from my work a couple of years after I moved away from Nashville. I’ve never been more disappointed in a place trying to do hot chicken. This place is not great
