LA POTAGER DU MARAIS IS SOOOO GOOOOD

…even though when we went there in the heart of summer it was like baking in an oven. Still worth it.

  3. I previously thought I wasn’t a huge fan of French food, but wanted to try it from an authentic vegan French restaurant, and I’m so glad I did. Just some background, I’m an American visiting France for the first time so my knowledge of French cuisine is very limited lol. Here’s my review of each thing I ordered:

    1. French Onion Soup: 1000000/10
Oh. My. Gosh. I will be thinking about this single bowl of soup for years and will 100% be coming back if I ever come back to Paris just for a bowl or 2 of this soup. The cheese on top was cheesy and the broth and onions were light but so flavorful.

    2. Bourguignon de Seitan: 9/10
This is an imitation beef stew made with seitan and a side of scallop potatoes (had the choice between almond rice, scallop potatoes, and I think quinoa). This was a perfect hearty dinner for a cold night and I’d absolutely order it again.

    3. Berry Crumble: 7/10
Very good, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve just had other similar berry crumbles and this one didn’t wow me. It was good, but I probably wouldn’t get it again.

    4. Creme Brulee: 5/10 *I should note I don’t think I’ve ever had creme brulee before, vegan or not, so maybe I just don’t like it in general*
I was so excited to try a vegan creme brulee, and it looked absolutely divine when it came out, but I just wasn’t a huge fan of the flavor. The caramelized layer on top was my favorite part, but I think I was expecting the custard to be sweeter. This could totally be an amazing creme brulee and overall just not the dessert for me though, so take this rating with a grain of salt.

The service was also amazing. I almost didn’t come here because they have no website and no way to make reservations online, we just happened to be nearby and were able to stop in at lunch and get a reservation for that evening (they also accept reservations by phone.) It appears they do 2 dinner seatings and were completely full when we arrived for our reservation, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation. If I visit Paris again, I’ll 100% come back for lunch or dinner!

I went here last year when I was in Paris! Loved the food and the guy who served us was such a sweetie too! Not a big fan of vegan desserts and I’m yet to have a convincing vegan creme brûlée but looks like you didn’t love it either? Anyway, land and monkeys in Paris also does great vegan pastries and quiches if you wanna check it out!

This definitely has me wanting to go back to Paris. I wasn’t vegan when I went and by day 3 we felt pretty weighed down by all the cream laden food we were indulging in. Would love to go back and seek out vegan spots like these 🇫🇷

Ooh I’ve been here! Think I ordered almost the exact same thing, really enjoyed the meal.

There are some great vegan patisseries in Paris too, VG Patisserie and Cloud Cakes were the ones I went to. Would recommend them both.

Yum!!! Enjoy!!! I might also recommend:

Land & Monkeys – they have a few locations; everything is vegan and INSANELY good!

L’Abattoir Vegetal – not sure if they are still open but if they are and the creme brûlée is on the menu…highly recommend

    Le Grenier de Notre Dame

    42 Degres!

Are you still in Paris? I had a great dinner at [Aujourd’hui Demain](https://aujourdhui-demain.com/#click&collect) this summer, and the weekend brunch there is supposed to be off the hook. Great 100% vegan spot with a neat little store in the 11th, not too far from the canal…
