Hello folks, welcome to our YouTube homesteading journey!
We live on Dja Dja Wurrung country in Victoria, Australia, on an off-grid property where we grow our food, raise animals and live lightly on this earth.
In this video I’ve put together all the small harvests I’ve made over the past couple of weeks. Enjoy watching what’s coming out of our gardens.
I hope your garden is flourishing!

Hello and welcome back to three Barrow Farm my name is Amy if you are new here Welcome to our farm I have a little video today of all the little harvests that I’ve been making each day for the past couple of weeks um just a little
Bit of a pretty video for you to watch while um it might be raining where you are I know we’ve had a lot of rain this morning and I think there’s more to come so enjoy the little video and I will see you soon for perhaps a garden tour soon
Um or a video on some preserving see you next Time well we all know what’s coming out of our Gardens in bulk right now and that’s zucchini we’ve been baking them and and using them in most of our lunches and dinners I tried a banana and zucchini cake recently and it was delicious and I’ve been giving away lots of zucchini
As well and I’m almost ready to make my favorite zucchini pickle Cherry tomatoes have been steady but I’m looking forward to some slicing tomatoes ripening we’ve had so much Basel coming from our Gardens and one of my favorite simple side dishes is tomato Basel salt and pepper I’ve been thoroughly enjoying all the colorful baskets of flowers herbs and vegetables coming from our Garden I’ve been dehydrating the medicinal flowers and Herb hers for making Herbal Remedies there is so much beetroot to harvest and preserve my family loves pickled beetroot so I’ll be making a big batch Soon We’ve had rain each week with nice dry hot days in between and the garden has been loving It A H I harvested some carrots from the first patch I planted back in Spring and they tasted delicious the variety I planted is purple dragon the bunch to the left was an irrigated and the three on the right were irrigated the irrigated ones are bigger and sweeter but two of them had some
Splitting which I’ve put down to the large amount of rainfall that we’ve been having I’ve only been watering through the irrigation every second dry day so I’ll keep an eye on the rest of the patch but hopefully the splitting doesn’t occur on all of them they were edible but I wouldn’t be able
To store the split Ones I found out that strawberry spinach stick berries can taste nicer when they are dried they aren’t hugely flavorful when fresh some of the larger and darker ones are sweeter than the smaller ones but they’re not like other Berries My first C cucumber is growing beautifully and I can’t wait to eat It Oh Oh Oh [Applause] you I harvested another large amount of strawberry spinach stick berries for drying the ones I’ve dried already taste okay so I wanted to dry the rest they are filled with vitamins so will be nice to add to breakfasts and and to fruit salads and things like that I’m Keen to
Learn more about what I can do with the berries so if you have any tips please let me know I’ll fill you in with how my second batch of dried berries go thank you for watching my friends see you next Time I A
