


Hello everyone i’ve made this mango cheong a couple months ago and completely forgot about it. It was in a pantry in dark.
Now that i’ve opened it up it looks like this and smells strong.
Is this still good or should I just throw it out?

Did you use brown sugar? The color definitely looks a lot darker than what I’d expect. Or it could be an oxidation problem.
If it smells funky or has mold growing on the surface, throw it out.
Lol I don’t know if anyone can help you. I’ve never heard of making cheong with mangos. I guess if you kept the fruit and sugar ratio 1:1, it should be fine..? The strong smell could be because it started to become a little alcoholic. I’m very sensitive to alcohol, so sometimes I can tell when plum(매실) cheong has little alcohol in it. I think the only way to tell if it’s good is to just try it.🤷♀️
