Okay, I tasted these three sauces blind (twice) with consistent findings, and the results are in!

The OG HF is mellow and balanced with a sweet, warm spice but not very spicy. It has a pastey consistency probably from its age.

The New HF is sweet and very garlicky, with the garlic almost overpowering the chili, but it’s about the same sweetness as the original. It’s okay, but is a bit dull in taste and not balanced.

The Underwood is bright and spicy, medium sweet, and has almost a vinegar-like acidity on the nose. It’s much sharper, has a hotter finish, and is well balanced.

If I had to rank them, it would be OG followed by Underwood. I won’t be buying the new HF again unless I needed a spicy garlic sauce.

Also posted in r/spicy but here it is with a blind taste test.

Thanks for the update. I was about to grab another back up bottle a few days ago, but I remembered you guys saying it was not very good. I ended up not grabbing the HF.

Thanks for the breakdown! I’ll happily be buying the Underwood brand. I was feeling a little ehhh about huy fong after the whole…everything…they pulled anyhow, so I’m glad to see Underwood rising from the proverbial ashes, and gladder to support them.

I have two OG HF bottles unopened that I bought when my wife and I began our emergency food supply after Covid. I never imagined i was buying the last good HF sriracha bottles produced. The real kicker is i don’t eat that much sriracha. Underwood is definitely better than the new HF sauce.
