Hello everyone welcome back today we are going to make rice pudding I got my husband Thomas in the kitchen hey he wants rice pudding so he wants to make his own I haven’t had time to make rice pudding I made it for y’all before we’re going to make it again and show
You just how easy it is for somebody to come in and make their own rice pudding make my own make his own all right this recipe comes own in my first cookbook home cooking simple easy and delicious but if you follow along you should be able to make your own like that okay

All right we’ve got that going is this half cup yep he loves rice pudding I haven’t made it in a long time so he was going to come in here and make his own I was like hey let’s videotape you doing it yay now I got to keep my hands out of
It let him do it right yeah I was going to go work on the vehicle today but oh this is much more fun isn’t it milk I need three and 1/2 cups ah oven is preheated oven is preheated oh I hope I don’t talk over him every time he
Says something I’m going to say it you will do it one keep an eye on it three and one half that’s a lot of milk all right we put the milk In half a teaspoon of salt it’s an all-in-one measuring spoon goes from a quarter to one teaspoon all right so 13 cup sugar go ahead and stir this up first that’s our recipe right here next to the apple dumplings oh maybe that’ll be next so

Continually stir that keeps the mixture from sticking to the bottom of your pan we’re just using a large deep Skillet okay it’s coming to a boil and that is what we want we’re going to turn off the burner and then I’m going to pour this into our greased casserole dish here right be
Very careful you can ladle it in there or if you have a pot that has the edge on it like a spout then you can use that which I’m going to do right here and then we’re going to use the spatula I got them clean in dishes I’m
Just kidding I don’t she’s mean y’all She’s So Mean all right we’re going to put all that in there don’t burn yourself yep that smells delicious already all right we’re going to hang on to our spatula all right what’s going on hurry up man M we’re going to place lid on it
All right and it’s going to go in the oven we’re going to bake for 45 minutes stirring after 15 minutes and after 30 minutes so every 15 minutes you got to pull out and stir it so we’re going to put the timer on for 15 minutes we’re going to bring it over
Here we’re going to Stir It Up put the lid back on back in the oven all right this is the first 15 minutes you’re going to take the lid off going to give it a stir now we’re going to put the lid back on it
It’s going to go back in for 15 minutes I get the door for you all right we’ll see y’all back here all right we’ve just pulled it out of the oven the second time oh look at that you can see the rice starting to come together I’m going to add some
Vanilla it’s going to be a Thomas pour we’re going to give it another stir then it goes back in the oven for another 15 minutes we’re not going to cover it this time cuz we want some of that liquid to kind of come out of it we’ll be back in 15 minutes or
So all right we’re pulling it out now I did let it sit in there for another 5 minutes Thomas is going to give that a stir now we’re going to let this rest in the baking dish until the rest of that liquid absorbs into the rice
All right once it cools down just a little bit we’re going to bring you back and we’re going to put a topping on here and then Thomas is going to give that a try for you I’m going to eat the whole thing he’s going to
Try okay look how thick that is W that’s what we want we’re going to Ladle these into portion sizes here we got some ramkin I’m going to let Thomas do that oo look how thick that looks y’all it is going to get thicker as it sits there hold on hold on hold
On we still got to put a topping on you know you can put raisins in here if you want he’s not a big fan of raisins at all so no raisins go in so we’re going to grate some cinnamon sticks on the top because that’ll be so fresh you want me to grate
It oh that smell good all right there you go [Applause] yep let’s give it a try good wow that’s delicious it’s nice nice and warm and comforting right now you going to put this in the refrigerator your extra servings and have them for later wow that rice is nice and tender

That’s how I have always eaten rice, minus the baking, and it looked just like that. Didn’t know I was eating rice pudding.
Not the rice pudding I had growing up. My pudding was solid and had raisins and sometimes my grandma put apples in it. Also, we put a sause on it. (thickened grape juice)

My momma used to make a Rice Pudding also, but never wrote it down. She did hers on top of the stove, never used the oven. I have looked for thirty plus years for a recipe that would come close to mommas, but haven't yet. I know that everything she used was "commodity" foods, but that's all I know about it. I even spent many hours in the kitchen with her, but don't have a clue how to do it. I want Momma's Rice Pudding 😢😢

My mother made rice pudding but she put raisins in it as a kid I didn’t like raisins as an adult I love them. My mother’s homemade tapioca pudding was the 💥
