First time making a steak. Don’t know if it went well or if it is too raw. What to do you think?

Looks like it went well to me, but would have went even better if you let the steak rest for a few minutes before cutting it. That way the liquid (myoglobin) will stay inside and your steak will be juicier.

    Cooked it almost perfectly.

Next time tho, let it rest at room temperature for 5 or so minutes. Less juices will leak out and it’ll make the steak a more even temp in the middle

If you enjoy it then it’s perfect. Everyone has their own preferences.

Sir I’m not saying the steak was undercooked but did you have to eat the whole thing before you complained!

I agree with the general consensus. The steak is cooked beautifully, it just needs to rest next time before cutting into it

If there’s one thing I learned in my whole 2 days in this sub-Reddit it is this: if you post a pic about your steak and ask how you did you can guarantee 2/3 of the comments will say you have to LET IT REST 5-7 minutes!!!!

Looks great but let that baby rest next time so it keeps the juices in!

For me, it’s Perfection! Main thing, did you like it??

Always let it rest. Otherwise I like my steak rare. Good job

  10. Perfectly cooked. Next time, let it rest 5 mins before cutting it, it will retain more juices, instead of dripping in your plate.

Give it a short rest before cutting it but it’s cooked perfectly.

Ever so slightly underdone for my taste, but it’s all a matter of taste. Only note I have is to rest the steak after the pan and before the knife. That will help lock in those juices.

issue is more of resting. inside looks fine to me.

Really fucking good for your first time

Personally I’d go like 15 20 second longer on the cook and rest it for 3-5 min.

Looks like you let it come to room temp before cooking – nice job

Steak looks very well cooked. Like everyone else is saying, just give it time to rest to retain some of those juices.

It looks perfect to me. If there was gray in the steak or was more pink then you would have overcooked the steak in my opinion.

The only thing that really matters, did you enjoy the steak?
