Welcome to Nicko’s Kitchen! For the last 10 years we have been getting people into the kitchen to cook amazing meals and of course to have fun while doing it. Every week we bring you fun cooking shows so make sure to subscribe with notifications turned on so you never miss an episode.

Why would you buy this in a jar when you can make it just as easily at home I’m making my honey mustard chicken so all around the world these jar sauces are really popular you see them everywhere and sure they’re convenient and they’re handy to have and all that sort of stuff

Have you ever read the label on one of those things have you have a little read what’s actually in them I’m gonna show you how you can make it at home it’s gonna taste even better ten times better without all the nasties in there so into a bowl I’m gonna mix my whole-grain

Mustard or the seeded mustard some garlic and of course some honey and I’m gonna season with salt and pepper give it a good mix around get everything combined really well and I’m gonna add that to my chicken I’ve got some chicken breasts here skin off and I’ve just cut

Them into cubes and I like my chicken nice and thick I don’t like little small cubes of chicken give me something decent to eat give me something chunky I pour over the mustard the garlic and the honey mix into the chicken mix it around and leave

It to marinate for at least 10 minutes and that is the base of our honey mustard chicken it’s just honey and mustard there’s no chemicals anywhere there’s no e 100’s and d13 and Z 100’s I don’t know all that stuff that’s in there so while the chicken is marinating

What we’re gonna do is cook off some bacon I’ve just cut up our bacon roughly into small pieces and I’m gonna add them into a pan nice and hot now I want my bacon crispy but I want it moist at the same time and we’re going to achieve

This by cooking on a really really high heat rendering that bacon fat down it will start to foam and butter itself in this beautiful bacon fat and just keep mixing it almost treat it like you would a really hot stir fry that’s on the go I

Want to walk you just want to keep mixing that around and it doesn’t matter where the bacon is that’s going to cook off and get nice and crispy but stay moist because of that bacon fat so I use a slotted spoon when I put the bacon into a bowl and

Just drain off most of that excess fat we don’t want that and just leave it aside for the meantime and we’re gonna start cooking our chicken so into a pan with a little bit of oil I’m gonna be adding in the chicken and I’m not looking to cook the chicken here I’m

Just looking to seal it on all sides so this should take about five to seven minutes just keep mixing it around stirring it around over a medium to high heat and you’ll notice that honey and mustard sauce will start to get a little bit syrupy it would have reduced down

Slightly and when it gets to that stage we want to add our chicken stock and you wanted to reduce that by half again which will take about three to five minutes over that heat and to really bring the sauce together I’m gonna be adding in some cream as well and again

You want to reduce it by half so you want that cream mixture it’s a dark and slightly to get some nice color to it and get really thick as well so once we’ve reached that stage turn the heat off we’re gonna add in the bacon I’m also adding in some freshly chopped

Parsley because you know I’ve got it growing out there like weeds at the moment so I’ve got to use it every chance they get I hit it with a little bit more seasoning just some salt and pepper give it a mix around and then I

Add some pasta to it now this bit is optional I know some people like having this dish with some rice or just by itself I love using bowtie pasta I think it looks really neat and nice so while all that was cooking just make sure the pastas cooked follow the package

Directions with whatever parts that you want to serve with all rice or by itself but if you’re serving with something best to cook it while that chicken has been cooking so give it a good stir through and then you can serve it up and serving is easy just place it into a

Nice bowl sprinkle over some more fresh parsley over the top and you have the most amazing honey mustard chicken you will ever have in your life let me tell you you will be thinking what was never buying that jar stuff it takes you the same amount of time but this way you

Know exactly what’s going in it and you are having a better result as well you’re actually cooking you’re not just throwing sauces in now this recipe is perfect for the family especially family style everyone can just get stuck into it so if you’re after the recipe please

Give this one a try the recipe link is in the description below if you enjoyed this recipe please give it a thumbs up share it with your friends and family and I will see you real soon for my next video until then have a fantastic day [Applause]

  1. This looks delicious!! Think you could make some vegan meals for those of us who can only drool at stuff like this?

  2. What can I use as a substitute for the bacon and the mustard seed ? I don’t eat bacon and I only have normal mustard

  3. I definitely agree with the jar thing it's just as easy to make your own sauce & I find them jars make me run if you get my drift I just hate using packet things at all

  4. Love the new direction Nicko. Every day recipes as opposed to the once in a blue moon stuff 👍🏻

  5. Huh. Never realized honey mustard pasta sauces were a thing. I've never seen them in the midwest of the US at any rate. Honestly never thought to make a "honey mustard sauce" outside of a dipping sauce (or a carolina style bbq sauce) at all. Looks good though, will definitely give it a shot! 🙂

  6. Please do a dry spicy chicken or mutton chunky disk with your cooking style 😉😉.. I just love your style like how you don't use so much to make a dish so delicious but i bet these are so more juicy n flavourful.. 💕💕💕💕

  7. Actually made this, but failed to pay attention to the amounts of liquid and ended up with a slightly soupy version. Which was delish even with all the additional broth. I'm sure when I heat this up tomorrow, it will be much closer to Nicko's version. I'm allergic to milk so used coconut cream. I really liked it despite the fact I kinda did my own thing.

  8. Are you able to write your recipes with grams instead of 4 chicken breast since it can vary so much. I'm making this currently and 4 chicken breast seemed like a lot so I used 3 instead. Just since sizes of chicken breast varies so much. Can't wait to eat it! 😁

  9. Just found your channel and am really happy with the way you put your videos together. The recipes I've seen so far look delicious and easy to make. I'm thinking of using this sauce with chicken or pork in a crock pot. We don't eat pasta but it would be great with broccoli, I think. Thanks for showing this one!

  10. I totally agree that these ready made jar sauces are a miserable option, given the bland taste and dodgy content of most of them.

  11. O my lord I’m new to cooking please explain all ingredients I would really love to cook your meals!! Do this for all your meals please.

  12. People click this video for recipee… we dont realy want to watch your face most of the video…

  13. If by D13, you mean D3, vitamin D is mainly obtained automatically from sunlight. Food is entirely chemicals. Even water is a chemical and not everything out there is bad for you
