Hi all,

I’m wondering if you are finding the meals to be substantial enough and filling. Have you noticed that certain types of meals have larger portions than others?

I prepared my first meal yesterday. A low carb chicken and vegetables dish. I was disappointed with what what included vegetables wise. It seems like they took a standard meal, removed the carb but didn’t replace it with anything.

Are the low carb meals typically this small?

I have never had an issue with the portions. My guess is they are actually the amount of food we are supposed to eat. A lot of people eat way more than they are supposed to so that would be my guess.

In terms of portions, look at the nutritional facts. Generally the calories and protein contents are pretty good.

We have two toddlers who we split our meals with, and the “2 servings” is still enough for everyone.

Is that picture a single portion of a two-person meal kit or do you pay for the single kit where it’s for just one person

I usually add more veggies. Not to feel fuller, but just because I want more veggies than they provide. Last night, I added extra green beans and only ate half the potatoes because I was full.

Most people (especially here in America) are used to large portions that are actually too big.

I usually keep a bag of carrots, Onions frozen veg to bulk out meals like this

It really depends on the meal. I find some incredibly filling and we end up with more than enough food, and others, we’re still hungry after. I think the main ones that leave us hungry are the ravioli ones (without a protein option). I should also add, we divide a 2-person box between my husband, my toddler, and myself, so I know some recipes aren’t really meant to be split 3 ways (eh, 2.5).

I don’t usually have issues with portion sizes, but I’m on the meat and potatoes plan or whatever it’s called.

There was one meal that was not enough food for me, I think pecan-crusted chicken with a side salad. It was around 600 cals, and most are 900-1100.

I’m a single guy so I expect 2 meals out of it. I’d say most last 2-3 meals. I’ve had pasta/cavatappi last 5 servings on 2 different occasions

The main reason I left is because the portion sizes were straight up insulting, especially for the veggies. One teeny tiny cucumber and 3 oz of carrot meant to be split into 2 portions is just pathetic.

  11. I’ve found that pasta dishes typically have more than enough food for two. And as you found, the meat/veg combos are usually less food. The calorie count is a good indicator of portion size.

Depends on the dish I find some more filling than others. I split the meals 60/40 with my fiancé and the portions are enough for us that way.

I find their serving sizes to be quite inconsistent. The pasta meals are giant and i can easily get 4 servings out of the recommended 2. Same with some of the rice bowls. On the other hand, some meat and veg meals are quite paltry.

The pasta dishes are huge, we easily get 4 meals from them. For most of the others we get at least 3, except for chicken dishes where it’s usually just 2 servings. We’ve never once been upset with the portions, though!

We keep broccoli and cauliflower on hand to add to meals just for some extra bulk. I could do with more protein but having been one who struggles with overeating I like the smaller portion sizes, but I have also been shorted a few ounces of veggies or protein before according to my food scales, i am not a fan of that. I feel the items should always be the advertised weight or over, not an ounce or 2 under.
