Steak potatoes carrots and gravy in slow cooker, egg noodles made in pot. Looking for ideas to add things, my gravy is 2can cream mushroom, 1pack onion soup mix, 1 pack brown gravy, 1/3 cup beef broth. Id like add more veggies, i seasoned the beef with garlic powder to create my own gmo gravy flavor

My mom always did onions with her roasts. Cut some small/ medium sized ones into quarters and add them in with the carrots.
Add some frozen peas or green beans near the end of cooking so they don’t get mushy.
Corn is also a good idea, can be added any time.
Ohhh! Those dishes!! I have soo many of them from my parents! Still existing 30+ years later!
Great food!
Why do you cook the noodles separately? If you put it towards the end, everything will taste good, but it won’t turn into mush
Yum. I’m not a fan of carrots. But I’d add corn and peas, maybe some sweet onion. Actual mushrooms for sure (beyond the soup).
Add celery. I swear by it in a slow cooker meal. Rutabaga is also great in a stew. Onions. Cremini or white mushrooms – honestly even canned mushrooms are delicious when cooked. You could also add blended veggies like zucchini if you wanted to increase veg without changing the taste a ton… I’ve heard of people doing that but have never tried it myself.
If you want to boot some salt to make it healthier that way, you could replace onion soup mix with homemade like [this](https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/217155/dry-onion-soup-mix/) and use low sodium versions of broth, gravy, and soup. I personally prefer to make my own spice mixes & gravies so I can control what’s in them, but I know that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I’ve tried making broth before but it’s never turned out lol. Always bitter. And cream soups are beyond me.
Wow, it might taste good but it looks like my dog threw up.
Is it just me or does that seem like a very high sodium content? Even the low sodium versions available here would still have at least 5000mg. Sounds delicious but I’d be careful if you eat like this regularly.
We always add fresh mushrooms either baby Bella or white, some diced onion, minced garlic, and celery. Otherwise I make mine the same as yours and always tastes great.
