If you’re always looking for new dinner ideas but you don’t want to scour the internet because who knows if those recipes are any good that’s what Mandy is here for hey y’all I’m Mandy and this is Mandy in the making this first recipe I’m making can definitely be done on the
Stove top and would probably be best on the stove top however we’re going to switch it to doing it in the air fryer so tonight we are going to be transitioning our crispy ranch chicken tenders to the air fryer if you ever wonder how to do that a lot of recipes
Will now share how to do that in their recipe notes and this particular author for this blog did exactly that for this recipe so we just need to tweak a couple of things and then we’re going to pop them in the air fryer let’s go okay to
Get started I’ve got this large bowl here I’m going to take all of my chicken tenders which I have a little over 2 lbs and I’m going to put them in here I’m going to break them up as I put them in here that way they get coated in what I
Want them to get coated in now we need about two cups of Buttermilk basically we’re just going to be pouring this over it so that it’s covered okay let’s let those hang out for a minute while I get everything else ready I walked away and
My Fork decided to go swimming so I got to get that out let’s preheat our air fryer to 400 now sorry for the noise of the air fryer we’ve got this plate here that has a little bit of sides to it we’re going to make it work if you’re
Just doing this on the stove top you don’t need this step you’ll need two cups of flour but I’m going to do one cup of flour and one cup of panco breadcrumbs and then we’re going to add our cup of flour as well you need ranch
Seasoning about a pack so that’s about 3 tablespoons you need some coarse ground black pepper about a teaspoon one other thing I forgot to show you in the lineup in the beginning is dried parsley you need about a teaspoon of that too okay let’s mix this
Together here on this plate this is why it tells you to get a bowl this is not ideal right here but going to make it work our basket is ready let’s go ahead and spray it with a little bit of oil I’m going to dig my Fork out of
Here and let’s prepare to get our fingers messy shall we so I’m going to take a chicken tender and just coat it really well and place it here I’m just going to repeat this until my basket is full I don’t want to overfill it I mean
Yuck right but it’s kind of like playing in Play-Doh or something when you’re a kid all right let me wash my hands these are going in our air fryer at 400 for 5 minutes then we’ll flip them you know what I’m going to spray them with a
Little oil just to make sure they get good and crispy on top not a lot just a light coating all right now they’re going in it’s been 5 minutes let’s flip these over we’re under a severe thunderstorm warning and everything is flooding but we’re going to have good food in the
Midst of it 5 more minutes it took a little bit longer than the original recipe said to I would say I had to do mine on about 7 minutes on each side and they’re definitely not going to be as crispy and brown as they would be if I
Had done them in oil on the stove but they’re a little bit healthier so I’ve got my second batch in now and our side dish which was in Tuesday’s video just came out of the oven too proceed sir get in here good flavor on that good kind of
Crusty you know a little crunch in there I like that so it’s got Branch powder in there with it right is that the flavor you’re Pi get some of the flavor it’s light it’s not you know it’s not like tremendous sure amount of flavor on
There I told him to take a couple of bites before dousing it in yeah this and this I was a little you were a little skeptical mhm little I like that don’t look like it’s got no flavor in that but it does good and it is quite Pleasant
Now he’s got to do a taste test for something else if you missed Tuesday’s video you should go back and watch it cuz he’s about to taste that I came in here to start dinner I’m getting everything together and then I realized Mandy you forgot to soak the cube steaks in buttermilk they
Have to marinate for at least an hour it is 4:52 so we’re going to let them marinate for an hour so let’s do that really quickly tonight we’re making a southern staple and I say it’s a southern staple but I don’t think I’ve ever made it but I got it just last week
When we went to a very Southern restaurant here in the Spartanburg South Carolina area called weight we’ve referenced their uh rolls before their food is just so good and we went and we both got Stephen and I both got chicken fried steak and I just
Forgot how good it is it’s so good so I’m going to make it at home I’m not going to make homemade gravy today we’re going to use the help of a pack but I’m excited are you excited first we have to marinate the cube sticks so let’s do
That you just need a kind of large shallow dish I’m just going to use this baking dish you need about 2 cups of Buttermilk so I’m just going to pour that directly into here we need two large eggs we’re going to add that into here we need about a tablespoon of hot
Sauce so I’m just going to use this Tabasco I didn’t measure that so ooh it’s kind of a cool I just saw it on the viewfinder it looks kind of cool it looks like two eyes and some crazy hair but the eyes are a little they’re a little lopsided okay we’re
Going with it we’re going to add in a teaspoon or so of kosher salt and about a teaspoon of black pepper I just recently got this whisk and I love it it’s so cool it lies flat so you can do if you’re whisking something in a pan that’s fine but if
You’re wanting a traditional whisk you just turn it till it clicks boom how cool is that and it’s silicone so it’s not going to scratch up any of your pots and pans it’s really nice now it does say to Pat the cube steaks dry these don’t look super wet but I’m going
To do what it says yeah these aren’t wet like at all that was how much moisture was on there hardly any at all but if yours look more wet than that Pat them dry I’m going to put each one in here and then I’m going to turn it
Over oh Mandy I just got it all over me and all over the counter is everywhere you see this I am so smooth can you get down in there please get down in there get down in there I crack myself up everything’s a song all right let me
Wipe up my mess and then cover this and stick it in the fridge for an hour I’ll see you back here in a little bit okay we need to get our um coating ready I’ve got some allpurpose flour here we need about a little over a cup of it
I’m just this is very Loosely it doesn’t really matter honestly just enough to be able to coat all four of them you need about a/4 a cup of corn starch kosher salt about a teaspoon of black pepper you can use regular paprika but we’re going to use
Smoked paprika need about a half a teaspoon of this a half a teaspoon of onion powder a half a teaspoon of garlic powder and a half a teaspoon of dried thyme and we’re just going to mix that all together now oh I need to tell you something something I decided I didn’t
Want to air fry this because I wanted it to be beautiful and honestly I don’t mind that this one is fried I never ever ever do fried stuff so I’m going to do the actual recipe tonight for this one but there is an option on the blog where
I found this recipe to air fry these so there you go okay it’s been an hour so we just pulled these out step is taking our seasoned flour and and putting it there on that plate what he’s gonna do is take it from here coat it and then
Put it on the other plate so Chef Stephen welcome we’re so excited that you’re here I’m excited to be here he said wait a minute are we frying these I said yes and he got so excited I said well you’re frying them we frying we are frying the real kind of frying that’s
Right not the air fry this air business you like air fried stuff I do but not for this this is we’re we’re just going we’re going to do it the traditional way this no no no all right so I’m going to let him finish doing that I’m about to
Put that over there in the oven if you were here on Tuesday you saw that I’ve also got um mashed potatoes or potatoes boiling over there for mashed potatoes so we’re going to tag team this tonight all right you ready I’m doing it you up for the challenge I’m doing it it’s I’m
Already doing it I don’t know what you’re talking about you’re just standing there just gabbing talking that’s what I do best ain’t it all right you said it I didn’t say that I don’t think I’ve ever used this Pioneer peppered gravy mix so I’m excited to try it tonight obviously the
Best gravy is homemade gravy but I’m cheating tonight just because I want to so I’m just going to follow these directions I’m going to handle the mashed potatoes and this while he handles this so you want your oil to register about 350 I’m trying to get
There we go oh it’s time friend let’s go we’re going to pop two of these in here all right hopefully it ain’t going to pop us lay it away oh yeah I W know get burned no don’t get burned please boom two of them in there all right we going
To let them go for a couple of minutes and then we’ll flip them and then once those are done we’ll do the other two so we’ll be back in just a couple of minutes I’ve got that over there for him so he can scoop them out easily and we
Don’t lose the breading that thing works really well listen to that Sizzle I told him we had chicken fried steak last week at waves chicken bried steak that’s right I mean if you’re not making this you just you don’t know you just don’t know you don’t know how good this is is
Chicken fried steak a southern thing I don’t know I would assume so but our Northern friends are going to have to tell us no one knows us crazy people we put everything in the oil we do we fry everything Oreos it don’t matter pickles we fry at all what you think about that
Gravy is it all right even though it’s not homemade good good I’m glad all right he’s just going to sit over there and Chow Down mhm so I’m going do the same thing I’ll be right back friends this is southern comfort food right here
GL we had this mhm and missing it was it was worth it it was worth all the it was tag teaming it was a little chaotic in the kitchen there for a minute but we got it done your um poppy matches your shirt there sir I’m feeling Orange today we
Just heard some information talk about it oh I’m just going I’m just going to quote the headline Nick Sabin is retiring what in the world I mean he’s 72 so he’s been the best he he has been you think they’re going to go after dbo probably I feel my blood pressure
Rising I’m going to stop this conversation okay y’all it is the third meal of the week and that means it’s subie supper night subie supper just means subscriber supper meaning one of you sent me one of your family’s favorite recipes today’s recipe comes from Deborah and it’s not her own
Creation but it’s one she’s been making for so long she never even has to look at the recipe anymore but this is Cheeseburger pasta it reminds me of an elevated Hamburger Helper if you will Deborah is a homeschooling Mama of two and she also teaches a homeschooling Co-op class she helps with Wednesday
Night dinners at her church because she’s on her Church’s Hospitality team so am I we’re twins I have to read this because I don’t want to get it wrong and it’s so cute she said my husband is a truck driver and he thinks I could make
Concrete taste good how sweet is that I feel like Steven is kind of the same way now back in the day I used to serve what tasted like concrete and it didn’t it didn’t taste good but I’ve gotten better she said this particular recipe has been in her rep
Is that how you say that I always struggle with that word she’s been making it since about 2009 when her daughter was born okay we’ve got things happening first of all I’ve got water heating on the stove so that we can cook our noodles boil our noodles and then
The only other thing I need to do is chop up this onion really quickly and we’re going to put our ground beef and our onion together in a skillet and start working on that I would have used my onion chopper however like my veggie Chopper I have so many dishes I’ve been
Behind on dishes today so I don’t want to add yet another big thing that I need to throw into the dishwasher so that’s why I’m just cutting by hand but I’m already about to start crying so there’s that okay in goes one lound of ground
Beef I think the recipe cost for 3/4 of a pound but I’m not splitting this up we’re just going to use a whole pound to our ground beef we’re going to add in our onion as well it doesn’t like me one-handed doesn’t work our pasta water
Is ready I’ve got some penet pasta we need a cup and a half of uncooked noodles so I’m going to measure that out sometimes you know I surprise myself at how absolutely uncoordinated I am but I guess it shouldn’t surprise me you’re not surprised okay it’s on the floor too and
We’re just going to let this bowl for about 10 minutes so let me set a timer so I don’t forget oh you’re not seeing that there you go and some someone has woken up from their [Applause] nap there you go princess our pasta is done let’s go
Drain this and then we’ll add it into our meat mixture so let’s just stir this around and then we’re going to add in all the rest of our ingredients you need a can of diced tomatoes I’ve got this petite diced I’m also going to add a couple of tablespoons of dill relish we
Need a couple of tablespoons of mustard bonus if it makes that noise seriously dude you going to be okay a couple of tablespoons of ketchup it calls for steak seasoning and then also for um seasoned salt this is Steakhouse seasoned salt by atie no no
So I’m just going to use this and just sprinkle a little bit in there you don’t need a lot and now I’m just going to stir all of this to combine it and it says to bring it to a bowl and let it simmer for about five minutes I really
Don’t know how this is supposed to come up to a bowl because there’s not much liquid am I missing something hold please I’m not missing anything it just says to bring it to a bowl which mine already kind of has and then it says simmer and let it hang out here for 5
Minutes so it smells really good if you’re feeding a large crowd you’ll want to double this recipe it only serves four as I was putting away my ketchup and my mustard I saw this and I thought you know the dub sauce would be good in
This I think so I’m just going to do like a splash because why not right I mean seriously just a tiny little bit but I think that’ll add another layer of cheeseburger likeness we add um the dub sauce to our hamburger meat when we’re making Hamburger so why
Not right I think this is pretty much good to go so let me grab our cheese we’re going to cover it in cheese because it is Cheeseburger pasta I have about a cup of cheese here and because you’re being so patient yeah so patient there you go oh violent and
Then on top of that I’m going to add in some green onions because it’ll be pretty that’s why all right let’s turn the heat off and I’m just going to let this cheese melt for just a minute and then it’s going to be time to eat let’s
Get into this thing here mm it’s so pretty it’s so colorful it is colorful smells good too wow that’s really really good that’s like a that is Cheeseburger good I mean that is Cheeseburger M exactly like cheeseburger it is coal approved I mean there’s no other way to describe this
Other than it tastes like a cheeseburger it does I mean the tomatoes everything I mean it’s just perfect the flavors this is delicious thank you Deborah for sharing this recipe with us this is way better than Hamburger Helper ever thought about they’re really good I have a feeling
It’s going to be a go backer she said I want more cheese yeah bless her heart she ain’t never had nothing to eat never sweet girl

I plan on trying the cheeseburger meal.
😂 I had to laugh when you said your food used to taste like concrete. My hubby and I have been married for 24 years. He likes to tell people “I used to ask for seconds just to keep ‘er from crying.” I to have become a better cook over the years. 👍😁 We have “go backer” meals for real now.
Princess 😹😹😹
When breading chicken I normally use one hand to dip into the wet mixture and the other into the dry mixture. It seems to keep my hand from getting so gummy. Everything you cooked looks amazing! Y'all stay warm in this cold weather 🙂
I still can not find the corn receipt
I'm sorry I tuned in just for Gracie. My fault❤
I live in Oregon and we love chicken fried steak.
Everything looks so good! ❤
Oh Mandy…
I told the hubby..next time I say I'm going to fry something..tell me No!!!!!!..I have never been able to crunchy fry anything..bless his heart he said the chicken fried steak had good flavor..that's kinda like thinking the grey hair coming in was highlights…ha!..I have 2 more cube steaks..dare I try the air fryer…🫣🙄
I made the cheeseburger pasta for supper tonight and oh my goodness, it was delicious! My family loved it including my 7 year old granddaughter. Thank you for this yummy recipe ❤
They have fried butter at the MN State Fair.
I'm from Ontario, Canada and my mom made this when I was a teenager. She probably learned it from a TV show or a magazine. I love chicken fried steak and have made it many times. My friends look me at like "what the heck is that" and then they taste it. lol Everyone I have ever made it for has loved it.
HelloMandy. I enjoy watching your videos. I made the cheeseburger Pasta for Sunday dinner today it was delicious. And I totally agree with Steven it really did taste like a cheeseburger. Thank you for sharing.
Sometimes ya just got do things the old fashoon way. ( FRY THAT STEAK!!LOL😂😂
You guys are ADORABLE! If my husband had shown the appreciation the common tater shows I would have cooked waaaaaay more. It’s no fun cooking for someone who “eats to live” when you want the appreciation of someone who “lives to eat”! Best husband ever!
I like watching you. Cook your recipes. The other day we found out my husband has developed chronic kidney disease due to him having diabetes can you sometimes do a recipe that’s lower and sodium and carbs I have modified a lot of your recipes I understand it’s your page and your show. I also have a Fatty liver and that’s why I started watching your show and that’s easier to cook for than this chronic kidney disease andmy conditions but I just love your family. And we love our southern cooking.
Oh, that chicken steak looks so good. Haven’t had any in a while. Looks like this household is gonna have to get some love the other stuff. Also, the boys loved it I see that thanks for sharing. Take care.🥰
That chicken fried steak looks delicious. It’s definitely a southern thing. I need to add that to my next grocery list.
Chicken fried steak and white gravy are definitely Southern dishes. You will not find this on a menu in Canada 😢 and no packages of white gravy, so it has to be home-made.
We came to love this when our son went to college in Oklahoma, and we would visit.
We do make this a couple times a year, but we will definitely try your recipe.
My husband thinks Steven sounds like Tom Hanks. Lol! I bought a chopper after watching you a few times and love it. Hubby saw the cheese grater and thinks we might need one. I noticed you don't use pre shredded very often.
Miss Mandy where did you get that whisk?
We eat chicken fried steak in Idaho. Since I was a kid, my Mom made it at least once a week. I still make it, and we love it! ❤
Thanks for the fun video again! I’m making the country fried steak tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration and ideas for dinner. For me, that’s the hard part of cooking…deciding on what to cook! 🥰💕🙏🦋
In Texas we have chicken fried steak as a STAPLE!! Especially since I’m married to a Cowboy!! Ours is just salt and pepper and milk/buttermilk ad flour. ❤️❤️
You NEVER stear ys wrong! Delicious
Mandy, leave the root end on the onion as you dice it!
First time watching. Love it❤❤❤
When you have to cut an onion by hand instead of with the veggie chopper try leaving the root end on. It's easier to cut the onion up as it doesn't fall apart on you while you're chopping it.
Oh my gosh the blue round pillows are what was on our couch growing up.
Great video I got to make that 🥩 🔜
Nope we have chicken fried steak up north too. ( SD and ND ) One of my husband’s favorites.
13:12 if you leave the root end on the onion no more tears 😢 leave it to the last thing you cut
Cheeseburger one – The mustard noise. I was laughing so hard.
Do you have link for whisk?!
I’ve always considered country fried steak as a southern dish, because my husband and I will turn up our best southern accents while we eat it lol we are from Southern California and there is the cutest little country kitchen nearby and we love going in on a Sunday and that is the number one selling dish so I would definitely say it is a southern dish ❤ but again I’m not southern 😂
Just a wanna-be 😜🥳✨🫶🏼
I grew up in Oklahoma and moved to northern Minnesota, chicken fried steak is definitely a southern thing !!!! I make it and have to have homemade gravy ❤❤
Chicken fried steak is one of my favorites. Ha, ha, “real time frying.” Definitely trying this. Thanks again for the great recipes, Mandy.
Tried the cheeseburger pasta and it was excellent. Thank you.
My husband loves chicken fried steak. However, I've never made it. I have done fried steak with mushrooms and it's yummy. I have used that gravy mix several times for other recipes. Everything looks great! 😋❤️
Chicken fried steak is very common in Michigan. It's on a lot of breakfast menus.
We have what you call “chicken fried steak” but we call it country fried steak.
Love Chicken Fried Steak in WI
