I used to live in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago. I would love to find a place down here with 10oz Angus ‘gourmet burgers’ like Tracks in Cary or Brandts of Palatine IL.

Has anyone been to a place with this style of burger?

What makes that “Gourmet” besides the price and name on the menu? Looks pretty typical.

Roadhouse in Bastrop has the best burgers in the state.

    Hanks, Blackstar, Jewboy, Hopfields.

Honestly, it’s hard to find a restaurant that doesn’t have a gourmet burger in Austin. It seems every other new restaurant is an new burger joint.

Bartlett’s is the answer. And Carve or Perry’s. Any decent steakhouse will have a big fatty burger like that.

Sorry none of them will stack up to Au Cheval though 😉

Salt and Time has the best burger of this style in my opinion. House made toasted bun with a crunch, HARD sear on a thick patty that they grind in house, and served with fries made with tallow. Pricey but a worthwhile treat every once in a while.

I wouldn’t call it gourmet since it’s a bar, but the first pic looks similar to the burger at Brick’s Pub. So good.

Looks like a standard burger, which is what I would want vs some gourmet nonsense.

Try Hillside Farmacy. Theirs is solid plus if you go on Wednesday it’s $20 for a burger, fries, and an Old Fashion.
