Let’s make a hearty ground beef stew for all you cold people out there this will warm you up we’re going to start in a large Dutch oven we’re going to start with one pound of ground beef and we’re going to Brown that up we’re going to put our pot on a medium high

Heat a lot of y’all might know that we use the wagu ground beef this comes from a company called Ozark Valley Beef Company you you can use any ground beef that you like we just like this ground beef it’s a healthier ground beef it’s a leaner ground

Beef and if you’re interested in the ground beef the wagu I will link the website for it right here and then give you a 15% coupon to go with that and you can use it any time and as many times as you want let’s break up the ground beef

And start Browning that up all right while this is Browning up let’s get some vegetables chopped up so we can add that to it and start softening those down giving them some color we’re going to be chopping up some celery about three ribs three or four ribs depending on the size we’ve got

Three carrots a large yellow onion and then we’re going to get some garlic also minced up now my celery has the leaves on the end of them it’ll look really nice in the dish and it adds another pop of flavor to it so I’m going to be

Slicing these kind of thin but we’re not going to dice the vegetables because it’s a Hardy stew but it’s very easy all right we’re going to set this off to the side we’re going to peel our carrots and just give those a slice all right we’re just going to give

Them a good peel all right just cut off the ends just do them all at the same time thinly slice it is super duper cold in Southeast Texas and I know y’all are colder than us to us 17° is cold and we had a winry mix this morning I’m making

A Hardy stew for us and for you we’re going to peel our potatoes I’m just going to use the same peeler now I’m going to be doing three rusted potatoes I’m going to do the other two and then we’re going to start chopping these up all right I’m going to cube the

Potatoes if you want to use red potatoes or the yellow Yukon Gold potatoes you can do that also all right we got that let’s dice up an onion just take off the ends and that outer layer we’re just going to give that a rough chop I’m just going to cut it in

Half make big thick slices cuz these these will render down but we still want to see them in the soup there we go let’s go back to our ground beef our ground beef is all browned up now at this time you want to take out any extra

Fat that you have in there we’re going to start adding our onions with the potatoes carrots with the [Applause] celery let’s mix this all up we’re going to sauté these vegetables down for 3 minutes I’m going to add in 2 tablespoons of butter oo that just looks so hearty in

There we’re going to get some pieces of garlic out of our bulb here want about three or four cloves depends on the size of them we’ll get three of them ready just take the flat edge of your knife place it on the garlic whack it all the way as flat as

You can get it I’m just going to run my knife through the garlic get a nice mince going and we’ll add that to our vegetables at the last minute oo yum we’re going to cook this down for one more minute that’ll help release the fragrance of the garlic we are going to

Add in one can of Rotel tomatoes this is diced tomatoes with green chilies or you can just add a regular can of diced tomatoes in make sure you add that juice oo this will warm us up and then we’re going to add in 1 tblspoon of tomato paste I’m going to

Have my husband open this can dig out one tablespoon while I mix this in so we get some liquid down on the bottom of the pot start scraping any of those bits down there which is all flavor yeah while this is cooking I’m going to be doing some rolls in the oven

Just the fast version these right here there sister Schubert’s all right we’ve got our tomato paste I’ll put that in few drizzles of wher get some flavor going crack in some black pepper we’re going to add in 3 tablespoons of allpurpose flour this will help thicken

The stew We’ll add it in now that way you can coat everything now we’re going to add salt towards the end and we can see if we need to adjust any flavorings let’s cook this down for one more minute just to get that flour taste the fraus out of that

Flour now we’re going to add our broth four cups of beef broth now you can hang on to some extra broth in case you want it thinner at the end but we’re going to do four cups right now and give that a stir okay I’m going to raise my heat to

A high bring that to a boil okay while that’s coming to a boil grab your spoon taste that broth M oh if you feel that all the way down to your toes you got some flavor going on in there my add just a tad bit of salt cuz

We had a lot of vegetables in there and we haven’t salted anything [Applause] yet that looks good I always say season like you love your family okay once we get to a boil we’re going to place a lid on now I’m just going to place my lid

With an edging right here to let the steam out because we want this to be a thick stew I’m going to lower the heat down down to a medium medium high we’re going to simmer this for about 30 minutes we’re going to check on it every now and then just kind of give

It a stir make sure nothing’s sticking to the bottom you want to make sure that your potatoes your carrots and your celery are nice and tender all right I’ll be back with a big old bowl of this ground beef stew smells so delicious let’s take a

Look oh my goodness oh that looks like such a delicious stew can me bring you up here let’s check this out that’s what a stew looks like thick and Hardy M already tested out the potatoes they are nice and tender the carrots nice and tender also oo let’s turn off the burner

Now we’re going to bowl this up who’s ready for a nice warm brown beef stew oh it just looks so hearty here’s my bite M mhm you got a can of Rotel put that in here adds a nice little heat to it warms you up that’s

Delicious all right you guys give me a thumbs up make sure you like my video if you’re new to the channel make sure you hit the Bell notification Down Below in the Subscribe button that way you’ll always know when videos like this one here are posted I’ll see y’all on the next episode

  1. Never had beef stew made with hamburger, will have to give it a try. Love beef stew! I like to add corn for some sweetness, to cut the tomato base a little.

  2. That looks so goid! I prefer to use ground beef, instead of the beef cubes, in my stew.
It was 6° here, last night! Currently, it is 10°! A day like today (realky this whole week) calls for a warm and hearty stew!!

  3. Good evening Catherine, I love comfort foods. It looks delicious ❤ I'm making this tomorrow …snowing here in Calgary, Canada 🇨🇦

  4. We have another winter storm coming tomorrow in Ky. Made my husband a list tonight of what I’m missing for this so we can make it. Thank you!

  5. Can't have enough easy soup recipes for me! LOL. We are freezing to death here in Wyoming. Constant subzero temps with wind chill warnings. Barometric pressure is killing us with arthritis. A hot bowl of soup is most welcome. God bless!

  8. Hello Catherine, from Canada. I have tried a few of your recipes now. I usually just press "like", but this time I want to leave you a comment. This stew is amazing! It is a favourite of mine now right up there with "Taco Spaghetti". Thank you so much for sharing these delicious recipes.

  9. I use my diced onions when Browning the ground beef..much better flavor in the ground beef.

  10. That’s the way we fix our beef stew also. We make cornbread for all of our soups, stews & beans. P.S. we’re in North Central Texas. Here’s some more 👍👍👍👍👍
