You ask more slow cooker recipes and today I am delivering this is an incredibly delicious dish it’s so simple it’s an instant classic but on top of everything else it’s got virtually no effort it’s just a bit of vegetable chopping and a bit of meat chopping it’s perfect for

Weeknights off just for a relaxed lazy Sunday afternoon you’re going to absolutely love it it’s my beef casserole other one-punch have making beef casserole in your slow-cooker is one of the simplest and most rewarding recipes you will ever learn now this is a very basic version

But what I’m doing is giving you the basic version so you can sort of extend it by adding your own favorites to it as you like now first things first we’ve got obviously slow cooker crock pot we’re going to throw in one brown onion which I’ve just chopped up lovely lovely

I’m also adding in some garlic as per usual I’m doing it out of the jar now put in as much as you like I mean I like a fair bit of garlic as you all know so that’s going in I’m also throwing in one large carrot which I’ve chopped up try

To remember when it comes to the vegetables in a slow cooker the smaller the pieces the better they cook and the quicker they cook as well I’m also putting in three large potatoes these potatoes are about the size of a fist so chuck those in as well that’s looking

Good already next goes in some lovely diced beef now I’m using about a half kilo of beef from this fair bit of blood in there too which is most extra flavor now as I said with the vegetables same as the meat you’ve got to have little

Small chunks in there that way they will cook nice and evenly and quickly and they will start to break apart and stuff in the slow cooker which helps to make this beautiful thick meaty gravy to go with it the next ingredient is optional and it is some bacon now as I’ve told you

Before if you don’t want to use bacon or if you can’t use bacon you are welcome to omit it in this case you can replace it with about a similar amount of mushrooms but I like to add bacon into these kind of casseroles because they have a nice smoky salty flavor which

Really helps to improve things I’m also adding in about a cup of tomato paste just plop it straight in also adding some Worcestershire sauce now I’m not doing an exact measurement I would say probably about tablespoon all up just sort of give it a splash I’m also going to add some

Purring as well just freshly scrapped lovely and some liquid ingredients now we’re going to put in four cups of beef stock now this is where you can divert the recipe slightly you can use four cups of beef stock if you prefer if you like you can make that two cups of beef

Stock and two cups of red wine it just depends on your personal taste time for our final ingredient and some really an ingredient as such it’s some corn flour about teaspoon which i’ve just mixed into some hot water I’m just going to pour that in and you’re probably

Wondering why I’m doing this essentially the corn flour helps to thicken the sauce and it makes it absolutely amazing sort of it has no flavor so don’t worry about having a flowery taste or anything so it will just meld straight in so what we’re going to do is mix this up now

That’s pretty much zero effort you’ve got to love that so lid on you’ve got two options for cooking if you’re using the low setting it’ll be about five to six hours if you’re using the high setting it’ll be about two to three hours now just remember don’t take the lid off just

Leave it on while it’s cooking don’t feel that overwhelming need to go and stir it or anything like that it’s fine just leave it alone let’s see what the results like this has been cooking away for a few hours now so let’s take a look lid off whoa let’s us thing that now

Look at that lovely meat and vegetables there that meat has started to break down so it’s beautifully tender we’ve got those lovely tender potatoes and carrots there’s a fair amount of sauce but don’t worry because that will actually thicken up as the stew cools down slightly once we turn off the pot

So that’s looking fantastic and that’s just ready to serve with some crusty bread you could serve it with some rice or some pasta absolutely amazing well I hope you’ve enjoyed this recipe check out my other videos of one pot chef show calm and as always the ingredients are

Down below and until next time see you later

  1. Decided to use my slow cooker for the first time ever today, and Iโ€™ve chosen this recipe. Just been shop n bought the ingredients. Wish me luck.

  2. I double up the ingredients for 6 people and it's always delicious my 4 boys can't wait for the next stew cheers mo

  3. My older crockpot doesnโ€™t seem to have the juice to get this one cooking. Put it on for 5 low and majority is still raw. Turned it up to high and will monitor.๐Ÿ˜Š

  4. I'd really like to know how he mixed corn flour with hot water and it not clumping. Don't think it's going to thicken as it cools down since it takes hot boiling broth to activate the corn flour

  5. I have followed this recipe of yours for years
And always a winner with my family and friends
Thank you One Pot Chef ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

  6. I used your rice recipe to learn how to make rice. I didn't know you had more videos ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm from America and I was so confused when you said casserole lol I've only herd it be called beef stew. You make cooking look easy

  7. Brilliant…. So easy! Great video man ๐Ÿ‘.. I have liked and followed and shared….. Keep up the good work ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™

  8. BRO YOU ARE TOO LARGE TO BE THAT CLOSE TO THE CAMERAโ€ฆ (BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP) THATโ€™S THE SOUND OF YOU BACKING UP.. JS

  9. Good to see a Aussie guy doing a decent recipe. Cheers looks easy. Just bought a 6.5 litre crook pot from a opp shop. Keen to give it a go. Any other hints or tips on herbs or anything. Maybe different versions ? Do u think better to brown the meat in a pan 1st. Some feedback would be great cheers. I have subscribed

  10. Hi thx for recipe. How would I go if I wanted to sear the meat 1st. That would give it extra flavour wouldn't it. I have never used a crock pot in my life but I want to give this a go. I might Tweek it a little bit though. Some feedback would be great cheers bro.

  11. This looks easy and awesome. As a Coliac. (Gluten intolerant) Corn starch is good. I can get Gluten Free stock also. If I used Bullion Beef stock cubes, how many would I need for this? 4? I have all the ingredients already, minus a brown onion. I can get that later when I pick the kids (nephews) up from school. They have disabilities, but they will eat carrot / potatpes beef with gusto. I personally would make mashed potato / pumpkin as we struggle to get one of the boys to eat vegetables. This dish will be awesome.

  12. I think maybe one or two stocks of celery, in with the carrots and a handful of baby peas Just at the end would add a new layer of flavor. Thank you for sharing your recipe.๐Ÿฅฐ

  13. Made this recipe. Love the simplicity. However I felt that it was way too strong on the tomato. If anything it was more of a beef and tomato stew. Iโ€™d omit that altogether and maybe replace with something else. Unless youโ€™re looking for that tomato soup taste.

  14. No pearl barley? Can't have a stew without that! And no slow cooker so would cook in a stew pan on low light for a few hours instead.

  15. Hello, i am so happy to find your channel once again. I watch, learned and enjoyed your recipes. Hope u r doing well and hope u r still putting pit out recipes. Thanks from ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

  16. Ok but wheres the seasonings? No paprika or onion powder of steak seasonings or anything… like nothing….

  17. Real good video clear and concise instructions v good. I think my slow cooker low setting is a little different to yours as the veg was still hard after 5 hours. I also put a bit too much liquid in I would put less in next time but I have the basics to make a good stew thanks to this video. Thanks

  18. Making this a second time this month. As a single dude who lives alone this is just so easy and there are plenty of leftovers to bring to work for lunch or dinner paired with a grilled cheese. Yum yum yum!

  19. Fabulous. You donโ€™t think it necessary to brown the meat first? That beautifully cuts out that annoying step๐Ÿ˜‚
