I’m looking to convert this curry recipe:

Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani)

It’s my kids favourite and we just got a crock pot so I’m experimenting. Right now I’m thinking I’ll do the tomato mixture on low for a few hours while I marinate the chicken. I will still sear it but I’m not sure how long to cook it in the sauce and if I should still add the cream at the same time. Any advice would be appreciated!

  1. Personally, I’d probably just dump everything in at once and set it on low for 6-8 hours. You could brown the chicken before putting it in if you want but I’m lazy and prefer one-pot meals in my crockpot. The cream I’d add at the end maybe 15-30 min before serving.

Edit: ok – I missed that the marinade is different than the sauce. You could still marinade it overnight in that then quickly brown it before putting it in the crock with the sauce ingredients. Still add cream at the end.
