Sorry the topic seems a bit confusing – wasn’t sure how to word it to fit what I’m asking lol.
So, recently finished watching “[High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America](https://youtu.be/7wsEdxt1Ico?si=tGQhNKHZgoP6i4Lc)” and if you haven’t seen it; it’s not only an eye opener. I linked the trailer it as well for reference.
My question is, since beginning to chase my passion for cooking and baking, after watching this, I was curious how I could do the same as they do but for my Italian & Sicilian heritage. In the series above, they interviewed chefs and such that create things that tell the story of their ancestors and the history of their culture and people.
Being a proud Italian and Sicilian, I would absolutely love to start doing the same, but isn’t it more than just cooking Italian cuisine?
I would love any suggestions and/or pointers on how to start or materials to read, etc.
Thanks guys!
