Shrimp in red sauce with Feta Cheese – Shrimp Saganaki
Ingredients:
24 – Shrimp size 21-25 – Uncooked raw shrimp
Marinate in 1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 garlic clove minced
Sauce
Two tablespoons of olive oil
One medium diced onion
2 garlic cloves minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 cup of white wine
1 – 28oz can diced tomatoes
1 tsp sugar
Recipe:
Marinate your shrimp in olive oil salt pepper and garlic refrigerate until your sauce is made.
In a skillet heat up two tablespoons of olive oil, once heated add your onion add your salt and pepper and saute for about three minutes. After 3 minutes add your oregano and red pepper flakes and your garlic. After 30 seconds go ahead and add your white wine cook for 3 more minutes.
Now add your can of diced tomatoes and a little sprinkle of salt and a teaspoon of sugar mix everything up and let it saute with the lid on for 10 minutes.
After the 10 minutes go ahead and start laying your marinated shrimp on top with the lid on cook the shrimp for 3 to 5 minutes or until it’s cooked. Once the time is up just go ahead and add your feta cheese on top put the lid on so the feta can melt a little bit. And your dish is done you can eat this over rice, you can eat it over pasta. Enjoy!

Hi guys welcome back to what’s on my plate so for tonight I’m making a great shrimp dish so it’s basically we’re making a sauce we’re adding the shrimp to it and it’s done in no time and we’re going to have it over rice so that is what’s on my plate so let’s get
Started okay so to get started with my shrimp dish uh we’re going to need tablespoon of olive oil okay then we’re going to use 1/4 teaspoon of pepper 1/4 teaspoon of salt and one minced clove of garlic if the garlic is small just do two cloves of garlic my garlic was huge
So then the shrimps in here this is going to marinate we’re just going to mix this up and we are going to put it in the refrigerator and when we’re ready to use it we’re going to take it out and then um add it to our sauce that we’re making
So this is a great shrimp dish so this shrimp I get a frozen bag a big bag and this is half of the bag this is 24 shrimp it size is 21-25 it’s raw uncooked shrimp and I always get the wild caught shrimp so that’s what this is I’m going to place
This in the fridge it’s going to be delicious and we’re going to get to the next step which is our sauce okay so in a skillet we’re going to heat up 2 tablespoon of olive oil then we’re going to get this heated it up and then we’re
Going to sauté our onions in here so this is one medium diced onion so we’re going to add that in we’re going to sauté this for just a few minutes in here we’re going to add about a half a teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of
Pepper okay so let’s get this all um mixed up in here let the oil heat up and then we’re just going to cook the onions for about 3 minutes and then we’re going to start adding the garlic in here this is such a quick and easy sauce and this meal is
Amazing so let this cook and then we’ll get to the next step okay so now that it’s been 3 minutes for the onions here I’m going to go ahead and add one teaspoon of oregano I’m going to add a half a teaspoon of red pepper flakes if you
Don’t want to use red pepper flakes you don’t have to so then let’s just mix this up here now we’re going to go ahead and add 2 tablespoon of minced garlic okay so we’re going to mix this up and this already smells great once you add that oregano in it the smell is
Amazing um so the next thing would be cuz we’re only going to cook this for 30 seconds after we added the garlic uh we’re on medium Heat and the next step would be we’re going to add one I’m sorry a half a cup of white
Wine oh wow that’s and this recipe I if you’re going to make this you need the wine if you don’t put the wine in it it’s not going to be the same the wine and the oregano is what makes this sauce like amazing and I’m telling you it’s really quick very quick
So we’re going to let this um just uh simmer here I’m just going to lift up uh put it to medium heat so we can kind of burn some of this wine Out 3 minutes this is going to go for 3 minutes on medium Heat and and then we’ll get to
The next step so now that we let the uh wine burn out a little bit I’m going to lower the heat and I’m going to add one whole can 28 oz of diced tomatoes so add that in here mix it up this smells so good already
Okay and then if you want like the tomatoes to be a little bit sweeter I I always when I make any sauce I always add like a little bit of sugar so I’m going to add um one teaspoon of sugar so I’m going to do one teaspoon of [Applause]
Sugar and another sprinkle of salt just another a little tiny one because we’re going to add feta cheese to this and the feta cheese is going to really make make it salty um so that’s the sauce I mean how quick is that and then I made um a side of rice white
Rice I have my sauce and then what we’re going to do is we’re going to let this simmer 15 minutes on low heat covered and then we’re going to add our marinated shrimp in here and a half a cup of crumbled feta so that’ll be the
Next step so put the lid on 15 minutes simmer okay so now it’s been about 10 minutes so I said simmer it for 15 just simmer it for about 10 minutes and then um we’re going to start adding our marinated shrimp right to it so just add the shrimp right on
Top and we’re going to keep simmering this for 5 more minutes or until the shrimp is cooked with the lid on so just going to get all my shrimp in here smells so great this is such a very this is a very nice meal and I don’t
Make the whole bag of shrimp because you don’t need the whole bag of shrimp it’s 24 pieces just put in as many shrimp that you would eat or to feed your family figure how many shrimp each person usually takes which they want them all
But um I just say you can only have this many pieces um so yeah so this is all in here now okay and now we’re just going to leave it and we’re going to put the lid on 5 minutes covered on a simmer and the shrimp should be cooked
If it’s not you just leave it in a little bit longer and then we will get to the next y okay it’s less than 5 minutes my shrimp is cooked so keep an eye on it when you put it in I said 5 minutes but
If it’s less than 5 minutes lift the lid and just uh check it so what I’m going to do here is uh my son doesn’t want feted cheese on his so I’m going to take his portion out I’m sorry I have to do it because I’m recording and then I’m
Just I can’t put the cheese on his if he doesn’t want it so I’m just going to get him a few pieces out okay okay so this this is my son’s portion I’m going to just put it aside and so now I’ll go back and continue with adding my feta cheese on
Top so it’s a half a cup of feta cheese and you just put it right on top if you want you could just let it simmer for like 2 minutes with the lid on so the feta can melt a little bit in the dish so that’s what I’m going to do and
Then I’m going to go ahead and plate it my son’s dish is already plated um so that’ll be the next step I will show you my plate dish okay so this is my son’s dish he didn’t want feta so there’s no feta on there it’s smells amazing so I’m going
To show you my dish with the feta if you don’t want feta don’t put it on um it just adds a little bit more saltiness to the dish but it’s not necessary okay and here’s my dish with feta cheese the shrimp and the diced tomatoes over white rice thank you so
