They are probably more problematic for being mushy, as most products made outside Italy can be, than for the length.

All pastas with added vitamins say this. DeCecco, a beautiful pasta, has it right on the front of the box. Everyone needs to relax.
As far as broken spaghetti is concerned, it’s only common to see that used in soups. They even sell broken Angel hair for just that purpose ( capellini spezzati)
