    This is my very favorite tuna salad recipe (makes 2 servings). If you have a Trader Joe’s nearby I highly recommend the addition of the Hot & Sweet Jalapeños to yours (they are also amazing as a topping for hot dogs and burgers!):

    * 1 can albacore tuna in water, drained = 200 cal.
    * Light mayonnaise (28g) = 94 cal.
    * Trader Joe’s Hot & Sweet Jalapeños, diced (20g) = 28 cal.
    * Red onion, diced (18g) = 8 cal.
    * Celery, diced (20g) = 3 cal.
    * Salt & pepper

    Melt was made with 2 slices of Schmidt 647 white bread (80 cal.) buttered on the outside with 7g of Smart Balance (25 cal.), and a slice of reduced-fat (2%) American cheese (50 cal.).

    The calories from fat are such a waste…
    Cut out the mayo and you can bring it down to sub 250

    I love tuna sandwiches, tuna salad nicoise, my mom used to make tuna casserole but as an adult, nope. Hot canned tuna grosses me out, cannot even smell a tuna melt. I have no idea why. I love raw tuna, grilled fresh tuna but hot canned tuna is a hard no.
