  1. Last week I checked out Messhall’s new pre-fixe Wednesday dinner special with recipes from the the iconic Brown Derby, which opened on Valentine’s Day 1929. I think that’s why they’re doing this promotion now! They’re in the same building as one of the original locations.

We had the Seafood Louis to start, Steak Tidbits as a main, and warm apple pie as dessert. The whole meal together is $41 and a $5 Brown Derby cocktail specials. All three dishes and the drink were delicious, but I would opt for the pie a la mode next time. We got the pie with cheddar on top to be adventurous.

The waiter told us that they will be adding a jazz trio to the mix soon too which should be really cool. If you’re into classic Hollywood nostalgia, I suggest checking it out.

Apple pie without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze.

Never been to the brown derby (although I do know the building), but that all looks delicious

Sounds amazing with the addition of a jazz trio.
