Welcome back everyone today I’m going to show you how to make tuna fish salad perfect for sandwiches perfect for incorporated into pasta perfect for putting it on a bed of lettuce and being healthy about it y’all come on down I’m going to show you my version of tuna

Fish salad we’re going to start off with three cans 5 oz each now this is a chunky light tuna so we’re going to open these up and then we’re going to drain them there we go that’s one can oh it already smells good when you pop that can

Open right I’m going to put it into a little sifter here going to take a fork just going to press it into a bowl get all that liquid out and then we’re going to add that to a medium Bowl now there’s many many different recipes out there now this is the one I

Like y’all let me know as we go along what you put into your tuna salad and then let me know what you think of my version now I like that with the water in it and not the oil all right we got two going in let’s

Get one more this recipe will give you about four to six sandwiches now I have four people in my family but only three people like tuna fish can y’all guess who doesn’t my husband he does not like tuna or anything from a can he thinks like a canned taste to it

That’s all of it got all the juice out we’ll just going to throw that juice away there we go just going to flake It Up Get rid of that now I like crunch in my tuna fish salad so we’re going to start off by adding a little bit of red

Onion now this is a pretty small one so I’m just going to chop it up into small very very small pieces depends on how big you like your crunch so I’m just taking off the ends of my red onion and peeling off that outer layer

There we go let’s dice that up now if you don’t have a red onion you can use a yellow onion a sweet onion you can even put green onions in there if you want all right so I’ve cut my onion in half the fastest way I like

To do this is follow the lines of the onion very thinly I’m definitely going to put a lot of crunch into this tuna salad plus the more you add to the tuna salad the more it bulks it up just going to turn my onion around run my knife through it very small

You know the Red Onion will give it such a nice color in the dish too y’all I think I’m just going to add the half we’ll hold on to this for another dish I’m going move this off to the side then we’re going to add some more color to

The dish with some celery these are two medium ribs I’ve already clinged them off I’m just going to chop off the ends down here get rid of those now you want to dice these up very small just like your onion so I’m going to go and I’m just going to make long

Strips down my celery I love using the centers of the celery because it has the leaves on it and that’ll tastes so good and then just run your knife through it oh who likes celery in their tuna fish there’s going to be plenty of it in there

Cut it up really good fine fine fine now I’ve got some girkin pickles here these are dill I’m just going to chop these up really fine you can use a relish if you like a sweet relish or if you like a dill relish it’s more of a

Savory then you can do that I’m just going to run my knife through them like I did everything else and then just make fine pieces all right we’re going to add that to our tuna fish Red Onion celery doesn’t that look nice look at that green it’ll make anything look delicious and or pickle or relish I can go either one all right we need to flavor up our tuna fish I’m going to give it some flavor we’re going to go in with a

Little bit of salt about a quar of a teaspoon very little that looks good the same with black pepper4 of a Teaspoon start low on your seasonings and then 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder just going to go across the top I love this no bake no cook sandwich recipe right it’s one of the easiest it’s kind of like egg salad but egg salad you have to cook your eggs right

All right so we’re going to go in with some mayonnaise again you want to start low and then add more you don’t want to add too much can’t take it back out so I’m going to put in half a cup and then we’ll see what we need to do with

That there we go let me clean that up it does happen in my kitchen y’all all right let’s put that in let’s mix this together now if you want this more wet you can just add some more mayonnaise but if you like the way it is and there you go look

At the colors in there I love that green the purple from the onion that looks phenomenal we’re going to give this a taste and make sure our seasonings or where we want them M that is spot on all right let me show you how I’m going to serve this

Up toast a little bit of mayonnaise that’s the way I like it I do this with egg salad too it’s got mayonnaise in it but I always like a little extra on the bread I don’t like dry bread or toast we got that mound it up all right tuna fish salad sandwich toasted

You know I got to give that a try for you let’s cut that in [Applause] half got chips and a tuna fish salad sandwich toasted let’s give it a try what a delicious sandwich y’all let me know how you make your tuna fish salad sandwich all right y’all if you’re new

  1. Tuna sandwich, another all time favorite. I haven't tried it with celery, "Yet". But soon I well. I have had it with tomato and a spot ofvmustard mixed in

  2. I can't have the onion, but I put celery, pimento, dill relish. In the summer time I like to cut a big red tomato about 6 times to create a bowl and add the tuna salad inside. Serve with crackers and ice tea. So refreshing and a light meal.

  3. I always add hard boiled eggs, too. If I am making a sandwich using the tuna fish, then I'll add lettuce on the bottom piece of bread.

  4. Love tuna fish salad Catherine, the only way my family does is add a boiled egg chopped up for each can and salt & pepper the toasted sandwich after putting the tuna on. And always good with tomato soup 😊

  5. I made this for last night and it was delicious. Thank you for all of your recipes. Do you also have a facebook page?

  6. I make mine the same way…even on toast bread and good ol BBQ chips…oh…sooooo yummy…perfect…..
    thank you Miss Catherine!❤

  7. Looks very good!!! I add what you put in but i like to soak the chpped red onion in some water for about 10 min and drain. Red onions can be strong tasting for us. I also add some chopped boiled eggs and sweet and dill relish.a little paprika , a tad of garlic powder, salt and pepper and a spritz of fresh lemon juice. With half Helmans and half Miracle Whip.😉

  8. I do it very similar. Except I use celery seed cause I don’t like the texture of celery. I also add sweet relish and hard boiled egg. Then like you I serve on a lightly toasted wheat.

  9. I have NEVER been successful in making tuna fish! I wish you could see and feel my JOY watching your video! Now, I believe I will be the star tuna maker at my house! 😊

  10. I like mine with water too. I use onion, celery, dill pickle 🥒, parsley, old bay, mayo, sometimes I use believe it or not Montreal seasoning. I add anything. I like it toasted and sometimes I put cheese on it for tuna melt.

  11. I always use chunk light tuna packed in water. I also add a hard boiled (or two) egg to the mixture. Sometimes I will mix a can of chicken with the tuna.

  12. I love your ingredients – but also love hard boiled egg. A friend was on a tight budget and used an diced apple to stretch for 2 hungry little boys. Surprisingly good.

  13. The only (2) thing’s missing, hard boiled eggs and a thick slice of Swiss cheese! Yum 🤤

  14. I make mine the same way but I also add crumbled feta, black olives, and a lemon wedge squeeze for a Mediterranean taste.

  15. I use Tuna, Celery, Onion, Eggs, Sweet Pickles, ( Dill,Paprika, Miracle Whip and Mustard and a little bit of lemon juice)

  16. Whenever I make tuna salad, I will add old bay, salt, pepper, sweet relish or dill relish, and mayonnaise. Sometimes I will add grapes (sliced in half) or diced up some apple for some added crunch. I will use onion powder if I don't have an onion in the refrigerator.

  17. Oh Catherine, this recipe is spot on ! The best Tuna ever. I have loved Tuna all my life, and at 68 years old Covid hit and I lost taste for certain foods. Well your recipe brought it back to me at 70 !!!! Thank you so very much 😊

  18. Tuna salad sandwiches are so good, remind me of my childhood. My kids and husband refuse😅more for me! They have the pouches of tuna now which I love better, no draining!
Grew up with mom making it with hard boiled eggs and diced pickles, yum. Some friends houses would have celery and some would have pieces of lettuce. I like them all but now I can eat it with nothing but mayo and either toast and cheese or if I’m being good and doing the gluten free way, Doritos😋

  19. Hallelujah!!! You are the first one on YouTube to not put egg in their tuna salad! You make yours like I do! But I chop an apple and put in mine. The apple puts the tuna salad over the top
