Last minute decision to hit this show with a friend this past Saturday. $20 at the door felt steep, but it works out because you really get to sample a lot of chocolate. You will absolutely spend a chunk of change, but at least you know what you’re getting.
Good cross-country coverage (from Victoria to Nova Scotia!) of chocolate makers (bean-to-bar folk) and chocolatiers (confections made with chocolate).
A great opportunity for chocolate nerds to talk to get into it with these makers. One corporate gifting booth, one industry booth, and a bunch of confectioners round out the spread.
Very busy. Took place at the Toronto Reference Library. Would consider attending next year.
There was also a seminar/workshop track that I couldn’t make, but I walked out with a stash (half new-to-me, half faves) from:
Sirene (Victoria, BC)
Kusama (Vancouver, BC)
Desbarres (Uxbridge, ON)
Vaka (London, ON)
Allo Simone (Montreal, QC)
Palette de Bine (Mt. Tremblant, QC)
Any bean to bar folks here? Any particular favourites?
