Served it off bone sliced, since my fiancé doesn’t like the stuff around the bone (that was my cooking snack lol)
Sauce was absolutely amazing. I’m still dreaming about it.

Very nice work! The plating looks far better than the last fine-casual meal that I had; good color on those carrots too. I’ll have to give this recipe a shot.

Curious, though: did you add the port? If so, do you think it made a difference? I *love* port, and my body shrieks at the idea of cooking it. This recipe is otherwise really close to Kenji’s pot roast with the exception of that port but instead with an umami bomb (sardines, soy sauce, Worcestershire) and the braise liquid for that is amazing.
