I’m at my local Korean grocery store and I’m trying to figure out what type of curry is in these (Japanese curry or Indian?)? I’ve tried using Google translate but no information.

The curry croquettes I’ve gotten all taste like the Japanse style curry flavor to me. I grew up eating “Korean” curry my mom made with the Japanese curry cubes from S&B Golden Curry or Ottogi Curry which tasted very similar/same to me. As an adult, I keep a couple of boxes of the S&B as my kitchen staple item. A comfort food. Lol

If you look at the ingredients of Ottogi curry, which is a very popular brand of is almost identical to Japanese curry.

Some people make their from scratch Korean curry more “Indian” by making the turmeric, fennel, cumin a little stronger than what a from scratch Japanese curry recipe would use.

Prob Japanese style curry, which is basically the only type served in Korea usually.

It would be Japanese Style since it’s east Asia and the popular style there.

Japanese style curry – but I can verify those are an amazing snack!

  6. hey, remember this if there’s no specific name of curry then you better expect basic one like yellow taste🫠😩
