Need help clarifying this beef fat further. Is there any way to make this lighter in color to look more like beef tallow? I got this fat after I made a beef stock, and I let it simmer for 2 hours with water and salt. The color is definitely lighter, but is there any way to purify it further?

Guess you’re too late, you should have rendered the fat raw like you would pork fat to make lard. 🐮🐷😛
Or do what the chinese do to make their disgusting ‘gutter oil,’ boil it in bleach till all the bleach evaporates! ⚠️ Highly NOT recommended!!! 🤮
Traditional British method is to simmer it with some raw potato. Never tried it though so no idea if it works…
I’m able to clarify fat like this by heating it in a mason jar with water, until everything is melted. Fill the jar to the top with water, put on the lid and refrigerate upside down. Then you’ll be able to pour out the “dirty” water. Repeat as desired.
This works really well for clarifying bacon grease.
interestinggg thanks
Learn to make a raft. Google a “beef consomme” recipe
The raft is usually made of like ground beef and egg and you have to poke a hole in the top of it once the raft forms and the idea is that the currents filter everything out through the raft eventually and it creates a super clarified stock. After it gets to the point that you’re happy with it, you then filter everything out and that’s how you make consomme. It’s been awhile since I’ve had to describe this, so it may be a rough description.
