    We were raised on olive loaf sandwiches during our school years because $ was tight.

    To this day, the smell and taste make me literally gag and practically vomit.

    It is amazing what childhood experiences and conditioning can do to you as an adult.

    With that said, if I HAD to choose: hard salami.

    Wonder bread, Bologna, Kraft Singles, French’s mustard with some Lays potato chips in the sandwich for crunch.

  16. Summer Sausage. Cheese, lettuce, S&P tomato, thin & light raw onion, mayo, mustard on a roll.

    I stil buy olive loaf, pimento loaf and bologna, only now I get them from a local meat market / butcher rather than from Oscar.

    Summer Sausage straight out of the package with a Kraft slice rolled in it. Olive loaf, mustard and whatever bread for a sandwich. Memories!

    Why in God’s name did I love Olive Loaf??? Only thing it was Thumanns meat and sliced nice and thin on a soft poppy seed round roll that was still warm left in front of our deli door first thing I would do before unlocking the doors at 6 in the morning every other day was bring those warm rolls in slice up some olive loaf and thin munster cheese and toast it open faced under the salamander with a light spread of butter the best with a sweet fresh brewed cup of coffee heaven!!!!! The off days were hot cappy ham and sharp provolone with a over easy egg on the same melt in your mouth roll. The best memories of my life those days at Riverview Deli and Liquor 💔💔💔💔 1988
