Looks odd to me! It looked like sunlight hitting that spot but I don’t think that’s the case. You should ask for credit for this.

It doesn’t look bad as in rancid (though always do a smell test) but it does look fatty and undesirable.

Hello Fresh gets a really high fat percentage in their ground meat, typically 80/20, which is a bit higher than you might find in the supermarket.

You want red meat as mince . white is ether fat or some really dodgy cuts … I would return it .

It was ground a different way i think. I’ve seen ground feel like that at the grocery store, it’s fine to eat.

Everyone is shitting on this but honestly, you’re probably ok from an edibility standpoint, and great from a flavor standpoint, and probably just a little light from a volume standpoint since you’ll discard a good bit of the rendered fat.
Cook it down, and drain the rendered fat or blot it out with a paper towel to get all the liquefied fat out, and have a delicious meal. This may just be weird packaging or a weird chunk of meat or something, but nothing appears wrong with it from a health standpoint.
Fat = flavor, so you have that going for you. Look up A5 wagyu – people pay an *insane price* for meat with a ton of fat. Fat isn’t bad, if you handle it properly and use the amount you want.
Do it over somewhat lower heat so it renders instead of sears, but I don’t see anything that would make me scared here, especially since after cooking I can get the rendered fat out of I don’t want to eat it.
Edit: it’d also vacuum sealed, but there might be some oxidization going on here if it was on the early side of being ground before vacuum sealed in its batch, which is also not a concern to me. It might look like fat but not be fat at all. You wind know that till you open it.

That doesn’t look like high-grade meat

If you’re gonna drink it !

Why do you guys keep ordering from here? It seems that most of the ingredients are poor quality, or there isn’t enough of the ingredient.

Most of the meat we got with hello fresh was on the turn and absolutely grim , part of the reason we cancelled

I’m sure it’s fine in terms of being safe to eat. Different cuts of beef look different after grinding and also the specific grind can make a difference also. You can get ground beef in tubes that looks kind of similar.
