Extra meat, extra noodles = 5lbs of pad Thai for $5 more

This is funny despite being wrong. 👍🏽

I’ve seen the kitchen at Sap’s so no, I’ll stick with Madam Mam’s

I LOVE Madam Ma’am’s pad see ew. Pay $2 extra for extra noodles and it’s enough to last more than one meal.

I will NEVER forget the time [someone posted](https://www.reddit.com/r/austinfood/s/wKkztkf7E2) all the rats in Sap’s off Westgate. The fact that their back of house (rats aside) was so filthy and that the manager acknowledged their rodent issue and said it wasn’t a big deal is enough to make me never wanna try any location.

Ayyye see the meme made it here too lol

The first time I are ate a MM I had a meal covered in stale peanuts. There’s a location not too far from home, so one time I ordered pad Thai. Can’t screw that up right? WRONG! It was bland af.

Saps holds it down. Last time i got
Madam Mams i swear someone cut the curry with tap water

Saps is pretty gross, ngl. My family members love it though.

I usually just get TukTuk take out if I want Thai.

All the good Thai spots I prefer are up north.

Philistines! Super Thai for the win! And you can stop in Golden Goose for a cocktail.

Madam mams pad see ew all day everyday. No one else comes close.

I barely remember the food at either. BUT excellent use of an awesome quote from a perfect movie and making it work for you. I actually laughed

Saps is the husband madam mams is the wife. They’re divorced.

Mam’s Pad Cha is one of the few dishes in town I can guarantee will make me cry every time and they’ll always have a place in my heart for that.

I’m just here to applaud the o brother where art thou reference!! My favorite movie of all time

  15. triflin_fellow

They’re both good when they’re good but I’ve had not-so-great meals at both.

A key aspect of Sap’s is their closing at 3am. I think that the ability to get good Thai food basically whenever you want is a major selling point.

Neither, check out Khon Thai on Burnet!

Thai Kitchen on Guadalupe and Little Thailand in Del Valle/Garfield are the superior choices.

MMs has generous portions of great food. By comparison, some ramen at tatsuya or Michi will have 1 thin piece of beef pork. Coolish. Standard, I guess. But MM will have 3 large, thick, wide chunks of beef in masamune/musumune? curry. It’s amazing and super filling.

Coming from houston I’m not sure there are any legitimately good Thai restaurants in austin but I don’t venture north so 🤷‍♂️

Sap’s gang here. It’s close, but if you’ve lived and eaten in Austin long enough you know.
