Learn how to make a quick and easy, moist and tender turkey meatloaf! Perfectly seasoned and topped with a sweet and tangy sauce, baked to perfection. No more dry and pasty turkey meatloaf! And yes you can use beef if you wish, it turns out just as delicious. 🙂
What you’ll need:
1 lb (450g) ground turkey (stay away from the rolls)
2/3 c. (80g) dry breadcrumbs (or use crushed crackers, croutons, stuffing mix, etc)
2 Tbsp dried minced onion (or 1/2 small onion, minced)
3/4 c. (180ml) milk
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp seasoned pepper (such as Lawry’s)
black pepper to taste
In a large bowl, fold ingredients together just until the mixture is combined. Place onto a foil lined cookie sheet and pat out into a rectangle about 1 1/2″ thick, leaving a shallow ditch in the center for the sauce.
For the sauce:
1/3 c. (80g) ketchup
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp prepared yellow mustard
Mix together and spread evenly on top of the meatloaf.
Bake the meatloaf in a preheated 350*F oven (175*C) for 40-45 minutes or until the internal temperature is 160*F (70*C) or the juices run clear. Let rest about 10 minutes before serving to keep it as moist as possible. Makes 4 servings. Enjoy!!

Hey guys and welcome back to Crouton Cracker Jacks today I’m going to show you how to make delicious and moist turkey meatloaf now if you guys have had turkey meatloaf before you might have found that it’s kind of dry and Bland not very appetizing at all this meatloaf
Here is absolutely fantastic it’s moist it’s juicy uh it doesn’t have the greasy and heavy dense feeling that a traditional beef meatloaf has um if you’ve never tried this with turkey before definitely give this a try um and it’s super easy to make up so let’s get
Started I’m going to start off using one lb of ground turkey here now you can do this recipe with beef as well that’s perfectly fine I’m just showing you how to do a turkey meatloaf here um I’m going to add in 2/3 of a cup of breadcrumbs as well as 2 tblspoon of
Dried minced onion flakes you could use chopped real onions if you want to I’m just doing this quick and easy so I’m using the minc stuff then I’m going to add in 3/4 of a cup of whole milk can also use 2% or 1% that’s fine this is
What’s going to keep our meatloaf nice and moist uh next I’m going to take one egg and beat that up uh the reason I pre- beat this is because when we go to mix this together you want to be careful with the meat you don’t want to over mix
It cuz that’s going to give you a really dense meatloaf um so I’m just going to add that into my mix into my bowl I’m also going to add in 1 teaspoon of soy sauce that’s completely optional it does make a difference however I’m going to use some seasoned pepper here and season
This up maybe half a teaspoon or so and I’m also going to use some fresh cracked black pepper Now using my hands I’m just going to gently start folding these ingredients together now you don’t want to go crazy with a spoon or get out an electric mixer don’t do any of that
Stuff that’s going to make your meatloaf dense and it’s going to make it kind of pasty you want to keep um your ground turkey as whole as possible and turkey as it’s naturally is is really kind of a soft meat uh and you don’t want to break up that
Grind so be careful and gentle with this mixture just fold it over on itself and press it down don’t mix this any more than you have to uh this is also why I pre-at the egg so that way we don’t have to mix it in there and you know mix this
Mixture to death you just want to mix this until everything is incorporated now I’ve just got a standard cookie sheet here and I’m going to go ahead and line it with a piece of foil uh the reason I use the foil on there is for
Easy clean up um all I have to do is take the meatloaf off of it throw the foil away the cookie sheet is you know nice and clean doesn’t need to be washed so um I’m just going to take my meat mixture and put that out onto the foil
And now I’m going to start shaping this into a loaf if you will Air quotes there um I don’t use a loaf pan for my meatloaf it I find it takes really long time to cook meatloaf that way um and I don’t want this in the oven for a long
Time so I’m going to Pat this out um until it is about maybe an inch and a half thick or so and I’m going to try and get this into a rectangular shape and then I’m going to slightly press down a little divot in the center don’t
Go overboard with this just you want to make a very shallow little ditch in the center and that’s where our sauce is going to go now for the sauce on top I just like a ketchup base sauce uh I’ve got 1/3 of a cup of ketchup in here I’m
Going to add in 2 tbspoon of brown sugar and I’m going to guesstimate about a tablespoon or so of prepared yellow mustard using a spoon I’m just going to mix this mixture up now if you like a brown gravy brown sauce on yours you know go ahead and make your favorite
Sauce on top this is what my favorite is um so yeah this is what I’m going to use but once I get that mixed together I’m going to go ahead and put that on top of my meatloaf I’m just going to place it right in the ditch uh be sure and get
All that sauce deliciousness out of the bowl uh and then using a spoon I’m just going to coat the entire top of my meatloaf here now the other nice thing about cooking your meatloaf loaf like this as opposed to in a loaf pan uh is that each piece every bite that you get
Of Meatloaf will have a little bit of your sauce on it um I find when you make meatloaf in a loaf pan it’s just it’s short on sauce and I like sauce on my meatloaf so but once you get that on there then you want to go ahead and put
This into a preheated 350° oven and you want to bake this for between 40 and 45 minutes or so uh it is best to use a thermometer if you have one you want to cook it to an internal temperature of 160° if you don’t have a thermometer go
Ahead and cut into it make sure that it is no longer pink inside the juices are running clear then you want to let your meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before you cut into it that again will keep your meatloaf nice and juicy and then when you are ready to serve it go
Ahead and slice it into slices and then you can go ahead and serve this up and you can see how nice and juicy this meatloaf is uh it is not dry by any means that milk in there really helps to keep it moist it’s an allaround basic
And versatile recipe from here you can add whatever ingredients that you like if you want to add Peppers to this and carrots and all that other Jazz vegetables to your meatloaf I know some people like that do that with your own meatloaf um but this is just how I like
Mine so there you go that’s how you make turkey meatloaf I hope you guys enjoy if you did be sure to give this video a thumbs up I would greatly appreciate it subscribe for more deliciousness and to keep up to dat on all my latest videos
Thanks so much for watching and we will see you next time

Im telling the truth. ive tried this recipe exactly as this guy is saying a few times and absolutely no one likes it. The milk makes it really gross and soppy
All that damn milk 🤢
What can you use in place of the season pepper?
I just made this and it was fantastic! I like the flavor better than beef meatloaf. Thanks for this great recipe!
Sound cutsout
I just saw this today. Made it today beautiful, loved it.2023.
Looks amazing
Light brown sugar or dark brown? Does it matter?!
My go to recipie for best meatloaf ever. Shared with over 100 people. And will continue. Love you. Thank you.❤️
A truly fantastic recipe! Came out superb when I made it! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I use plastic gloves to mix up my meatloaf.
I love ❤️ extra sausage on my meatloaf
Can I substitute oatmeal for breadcrumbs?
Pam or grease the foil?? Does the meatloaf stick otherwise.
Can’t wait to try this, thank u & God bless!❤
Made it last night and I couldn't stop eating it lol 😂❤
Thank you for this recipie as it is moist and instead of any kind of sauce, I just pour some chicken stock on the ditch, it will make a light sauce. I put the sause and meatloaf crumbs (that I scrape off the foil) into another small pan to make a gravy.
I did use a 2 lb Jennie O roll of ground turkey 85% lean/15% fat. Since I used a 2 lb. roll, I doubled all other ingredients. I followed your recipe and was pleasantly delighted. This was the best meatloaf I have made to date. I don't know why you expressly said to avoid using a roll, but it worked for me. This is an excellent recipe and it works using a roll of turkey. Thank u.
Made it this afternoon – everyone likes it!
I’m back!!! Checking to see if you have made it back?! But another year has passed by and still no you! You undoubtedly do not know how much you have helped and how much we love and miss you!❤
Lol I like how you said “if you want peppers and carrot and all that other….. JAZZ” 😅
I was rushing and on the phone, and I mixed it a bit too much, added the glaze half way done. Kept it simple and not paying attention, didn’t use milk. It still came out delicious! Thank you. I’ve always used ground beef so looked up turkey and your recipe even though I messed up a bit, still delicious! Looking forward to when I’m actually paying attention lol…. Again, thank you !! Oh I just added onions and garlic. Even messed it up, was delicious….
OK the second time I tried this there was no way I could get that mass onto a cookie sheet, it flowed more like cake batter. Maybe ¾ cup milk is too much? I had to put it in a proper "loaf" pan because I had to POUR it. I dispensed with the sauce on top…maybe later as it's cooking and gets more "solid"?
Just subscribed to your channel and gave it a thumbs up.❤😍
I love the way that you shared your recipe. It's clear, simple , easy to follow👍👏
Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🙏
If this is the sweet sauce. It's my favorite meal behind chicken and dumplings
Realized I didn't have milk and only had heavy cream so I used that instead. It made the thing so soft and creamy and delicious. I'd recommend you give it a try! (Oh and I think I used an extra tsp of soy sauce too by accident)
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks.
White meat very healthy red meat is not. 🙂
I add mushrooms and onions to my meatloaf. Making this recipe tomorrow.
