Like Granny used to make!!
I’ve ‘borrowed’ the recipe off N.L., modified it a bit and voila…
Served with beetroot and salt & pepper bread.

seems a bit on the thick side, was that intentional or did too much broth steam off?

Can you legally call it soup if it has the consistency of paste?

This post needs a recipe to fulfil sidebar rules. Thanks!

Is this a… Scottish(?) thing? Also, despite some of the other comments, it looks tempting.

My mind is blown. For some reason, I never thought to use fresh peas, only dry ones! This is possibly my favorite soup.

You know, I’ve only had a soup like this with split peas, not fresh peas. Seems worth a shot.

That looks kinda bomb AF. I’ve never had a “soup” that thick it looks awesome what’s your recipe?

That looks exactly like the pea & ham my mum makes. Have you got the recipe? I might compare it to hers.

I don’t think she adds carrot though.

Looks great! If your soup doesn’t turn to paste by the second day, you’ve done something wrong. Growing up we’d always used a smoked ham hock, gives the soup a great flavor. We’d always have it with buttered corn bread.
