I bought a full size Weber griddle insert for my genesis 300 grill. Been seasoning it with canola oil 450-500 for 30 minutes now done 3-4 times see pics. What should I do? Season again or start using or something else

Why are you seasoning it? The manual tells you not to. Just cook on it.

My skillet looks like this if I season with too much oil. Easiest thing to do next is just cook on it. Might have some slight sticking. If I wanted to take some of this build up down, I would take a gentle pass with steel wool.

If it’s anything like a cast iron pan, you are leaving too much oil on the surface. After applying oil you need to wipe up as much as possible with dry paper towel. A little goes a long way. And as others have said, just start cooking.

Too thick of a layer of oil. If you keep building that up, you will probably get the opposite effect desired and make it sticky.

Excessive oil. Heat it up and scrape some off, then start cooking on it. I like to hit the store and get some grease burgers (85% lean = FAT) Cook them and coat the griddle and then crank up the heat to season the thing. Next time you cook on it you just toss some salt on and wipe it down with a paper towel. Repeat that a few times and you won’t be able to get anything to stick to it.
