Unfortunately, it is very hard to gain access to Asian produce from where I live, the most I can get is Ramen. I would love to try making Samgyetang as it looks absolutely delicious, however I’m struggling with the list of ingredients, any help?

If you feel difficulty finding Astragalus, Ginseng, or Ballon flower roots. You can boil chicken with garlic but without Ginseng or Astragalus, which will make Dak-Baeksuk (닭백숙). It’s very similar to Samgyetang. See [wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baeksuk). The recipe may be easily found.

They sell samgaetang herb kits on Amazon. It should have all the ingredients dried in a pouchfor you to add inside the chicken.

Google “Nokdu samgetang/mungbean samgyetang /녹두 삼계탕
I’ve made it without both. And I usually make it without ginseng. It tastes good without it. Just add a lot of garlic
You can try using ginseng tea, which has a shelf life of basically forever.
How would I make this vegetarian?
Use what you have on hand. Can lean more towards French with carrots onions and celery. I promise it will be different but still delicous.
