This was not the best pictures, but I just wanted to talk about this place.
I woke up in the afternoon (as one does) and thought “I need a burger”. All the interesting burger places seem to be in the Los Feliz/Silverlake/DTLA area and that’s too much driving for a weekday.
Settled on this place with decent reviews on Yelp. The best review, however, comes from our very own u/siamesecat_13 . He or she was right on with their assessment.
So you have to eat this food hot and piping. Even still, the fries were nothing to write home about. Basic, golden, crispy shell texture, but lacking that factor to make one want to eat more fries than they should. Just bland. I tried their chili (not pictured separately) and it was good. Made me wish they sold original Fritos.
The burger. I got a single cheese burger because I can’t eat a double and I’m scared of my upcoming cholesterol lab work .
The burger had all of the right ingredients but somehow didn’t sing. Nothing was disgusting. Everything was pasable. Maybe the patty could have been more seasoned? It was definitely well done; usually I like medium or medium rare with burgers.
The burger was not bad, but it’s not “Let me seek this out because it’s so good”. Just kind of shoulder I kind of want the burger to flood my brain with dopamine so I’m addicted, but that didn’t happen.
I tried putting ketchup on the burger, that overly sweet hot sauce on the burger, chili in the burger, and nothing improved it beyond “ok”.
The staff was nice. Cool people.
And something I ate left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. So now I’ll have to drink a lot of water to flush it.
