So many grocery hauls and fridge pics are highly curated and not realistic. So here’s what mine looks like, I’d love to see others too if anyone gets inspired to post. I live with my boyfriend who eats a lot, any food I can’t eat he will eat lol.
Things that aren’t clearly labelled
– I keep kimchi in the big container in my fridge, there’s other kimchis and pickles in there too. Great side dish, so good for you, low in calories. I eat a lot of Asian food even while dieting, a lot of common Japanese/Korean foods are super low calorie and full of flavour like miso, soybean paste, soy sauce, ponzu, etc.
– I keep a container of chopped cabbage and it’s my favourite hack so far. Whatever amount of rice I eat, I use cabbage the same amount and it doubles the volume of food so I feel full. I often just microwave the cabbage with a little bit of water for maybe 2 mins and it’s good to eat. Adds nice crunch too and has so few calories.
– in freezer I have some pre-portioned lean ground beef and rice in 100calorie amounts. Makes it easy to pull out what I need. Beef thaws in 30mins and rice you can microwave to use right away. It’s convenient because stores don’t really sell only 50g of meat in a package and it’s hard to cook so little rice. I also have some Turkey cabbage rolls and roasted sweet potatoes as meal prep too.

Fresh ingredients are almost always the best!
I like to cook and have for years. I like good food so I know I’ll eat at least something decent if I make it myself.
It’s so much cheaper but also easier for me to be healthy.
When I was cooking for more people at home, so bigger meals, I’d often have someone ask me during checkout what I was making. After a while, the same checkers would ask every time. Huge compliment!
